Maybe the best week of the year for golf fans. I have some cash built up in my golf account, so I'm going to let the wagers fly.2003 PGA tour to date is 42-27-5 +1345

1. Tiger Woods +160 vs the field

Seems like pretty good odds to me.

2. Fred Couples -125 vs Brad Faxon

Fred is playing well lately and is on a course where he has done well and won. Faxon drives it crooked and with the redesign here that could be trouble.Brad might have the best short game on tour. but I don't think it's enough to offset his problems off the tee.

3. John Huston -145 vs Angel Cabrera

I don't think I've ever lost with John in a matchup at Augusta. He has shot some real low numbers here.

4. Scott Hoch -120 vs Bob Estes

Scott has had a great year and has almost won this tournament on several occasions. His steep swing producing a high ball flight with his irons is perfect for this course. Not to mention his putting.

5. Retief Goosen -200 vs Sergio Garcia

Retief started to hit stride last week on a course much like Augusta. He is a world class player with one of the silkiest putting strokes I have seen. Sergio has been awful this year and I have cashed 4 times betting against him. He is working on a major swing change and is trying another new putter. Not a good combination the week of Augusta.

6. David Toms -140 vs Sergio Garcia

This is just another bet against Garcia. Toms is a fine player with the right kind of ball flight for Augusta. Also a fine putter.

7. Jim Furyk -130 vs Justin Leonard

Furyk hits it high and can draw or fade it with equal sucess. Perfect for the tee shots here. He also has a great short game and could be in contention here. Justin is a low ball hitter better suited to courses other than Augusta.

8. Padraig Harrington +130 vs Phil Mickelson

Here you get a top 10 in the world player in Harrington against a highly overated Mickelson who looks like he is just going through the motions after so many beatings at the hands of Tiger. Phil played like crap in Atlanta last week and missed the cut. I really like Phil as a person but he just seems to be lacking something on the course. I think he would rather be back in San Diego with his family.Harrington is a nice dog here.

If by any chance anyone can find a head to head featuring Tom Watson please let me know on this thread. The weather at Augusta is supposed to be wet, cold, and crappy this week. Watson is the best foul weather player in the history of the game.

I'm also looking for matchups featuring Jose maria Olazabal. As a 2 time winner here he should be featured in a matchup somewhere. He is a good go AGAINST here as he has not solved the problems he is having with his driver. With the lengthening of this course he can't get by with 3 wood and 1 iron anymore. Again let me know on this thread if he is featured anywhere.

I just placed these proposition bets on the Masters:

1/2 unit each on:

1. Finishing position of retief Goosen
Better than 13' +100
2. Finishing position of Davis Love III
Better than 8' -105
3. Will Sergio Garcia make the cut ?
NO +175
4. The highest score shot by a player

Only have one play. To many players seem to be haveing a hard time with the way course is or to many holes in one day. Will be interesting to watch. I still think Tiger makes a run at this thing somehow.

Clarke-102 def Weir

I agree and that creates a situation today when the matchups for the last 2 rounds are posted. The lists below should be looked at before wagering on Sat and/or Sun matchups.

List 1 : These player have all completed round 2 and should make the cut. They will get to report to the course for their regular tee time on Sat.

Jeff Maggert
Nick Price
Bob Estes
Craig Parry
Kenny Perry
Chris Riley
Scott Hoch

List 2 : These players did not finish round 2 and must be at the course to complete round 2 starting at 7:30 Am. They all have at least 8 holes to play Sat morning.

Angel Cabrera
Darren Clarke
Chas Howell III
Justin Rose
Len mattiace
Tiger Woods
Pat Perez

The players from list 1 will have a distinct advantage over players from list 2 if they should be pitted against each other for weekend matchups.

Think the amount of holes got to a lot of players at the end of the 3rd day. Little mistakes turned into huge ones. Tiger came up big as I thought he would. And I feel he will do it again today. Todays plays

Wood to win Masters +205
Singh -115 def Mickleson
Woods -205 def Els

This is where I'm at after round 3. These are my original bets, I did not add any.

Huston L missed cut
Hoch L missed cut
Furyk W Leonard missed cut
Harrinton L missed cut

Matches still active :

Woods 4 dn to field
Couples 6 up on Faxon
Goosen 2 up on Garcia
Toms 7 up on Garcia

1-1 on prop bets with the others to be determined today. I need a good day today to show any profit at all for this event.
