I am undefeated this year on my POM's.

ATLANTA at CINCINNATI
Glavine is on a roll, with a 3-0 mark his last three starts, including back-to-back complete games in his last two in which he has yielded but one earned run. However, those were both against the Expos. Glavine has mastered the Reds in his career, with a 23-9 lifetime record. But a little closer look at Glavine in his starts against San Diego and the Dodgers on May 12th and May 7th respectively, shows a different Glavine than the pitcher who beat Montreal twice and Colorado once (Rockies cannot hit lefties) in his last three starts. In those starts against the Padres and LA, Glavine was shelled for 17 hits, 9 runs (8 earned) while taking a loss against San Diego and a no decision against the Dodgers. The Reds' Rijo lost his last outing at home against the Marlins, getting roughed up for 6 hits and four runs in just 3.2 innings. Prior to that though, he won two in a row over the Cards and the Brewers. The Reds are leading the Central Division with a 32-21 record and now Glavine has been installed as a -150 road chalk. If Glavine runs into trouble early, he usually falls apart, which is a very good possibility in this game. Have to go with the Reds in this one as a +140 home 'dog.
SELECTION: CINCINNATI +140

BONUS Pick
BOSTON at NY YANKEES
Arrojo comes out of the bullpen to make his first start this season. He is a quality pitcher who was the star of the Tampa Bay pitching staff as a starter a couple of years ago. He has compiled a 3-1 mark as a reliever this year and owns a career 4-2 record over the Yankees, including a win his last appearance against New York last week when he came in and pitched two innings of hitless ball in a Red Sox 9-8 win. Yes, Mussina is rolling - 4-0 his last five starts - but look at his ERA in those five starts - an alarming 5.29 earned run average. He has been the obvious benefactor of some luck and some huge run support and is clearly very hittable - surrendering 32 hits his last 32.1 innings pitched. The Red Sox own the best record in the Big Leagues with a 35-15 mark - and now they are a -200 underdog. Time for Mussina to come back down to earth as his luck runs out in this one. Boston +180 looks good from here. Take the Red Sox in this game - if for no other reason than principle.
SELECTION: BOSTON +180
