We know from experience that when humans are involved waving a stick at a ball going 90 plus MPH some unexpected results can occur. I don't think this is all that far fetched for Detroit to make the headlines and beat Schilling.Maroth makes his second start for Detroit and he is the opposite of Schilling. He is a pitcher who must keep the ball down in the zone and frustrate batters. In his first start he went 7 innings on just 96 pitches, no ER, and had 15 GO and 7 FO. Not too shabby. This will be the first time that Arizona will face him. I know from experience that when you face a pitcher for the first time and you really don't know too much about him, it can be a real struggle all night long.he is just a good quality baseball pitcher who relies on 8 other men to get outs for him.
Schilling has been superb to date. One item i have noted over his last 3 starts is that his pitches are starting to get up in the strike zone earlier in the game - a result of fatigue. Certainly i am not going to tell you that Detroit is the better team or that they have the better pitcher. A very good risk/reward bet.
If you like that you might look at putting some on Det +1.5 (+150) too. it can happen. GL-R
