College Hoops Matchups for Dec. 29

Just because bowl season is starting to dominate people's betting interests, doesn't mean that there are not other options out there for the wise investors. College basketball is near the end of non-conference play but there are still some very intriguing matchups on Saturday. Check out a few of them below.!

Get ready for some college hoops betting

Santa Clara (11-2 SU, 5-4 ATS) at #1 Duke (11-0 SU, 7-4 ATS)

Santa Clara has had a little more rest. On Dec. 22 Santa Clara dominated Wagner at home, 69-45, giving 11, while Duke routed Elon, 76-54 on Dec. 20, giving 24. Duke shot a season-high 56.7 percent in an 88-47 rout of Cornell on Dec. 19, one night before turning in its second-worst shooting effort (43.3 percent) and struggling to put away Elon in a 76-54 win. Mason Plumlee had 21 points and 15 rebounds against Elon. He's among the nation's leaders in double-doubles with seven and field-goal percentage at 64.1. Santa Clara has three players averaging double figures in points, led by Kevin Foster's 18.2 per game. Santa Clara is 2-9 ATS L11 following an ATS win. College Basketball Line: Duke is a 18-point favorite. Total: 149.5.

Kentucky (8-3 SU, 3-5 ATS) at #4 Louisville (11-1 SU, 7-5 ATS)

This should be one of the best college rivalries. But Louisville has lost four straight in this series including last spring's national semifinal in New Orleans. Kentucky won that game 69-61 and went on to beat Kansas two days later for its eighth national championship. Kentucky also beat Louisville, 69-62 on Dec. 31, 2011, giving 10. Louisville is all about tough pressure defense. The Cards lead the nation in turnover margin (+8.6) and are second in steals at 11.9 per game. Since their only loss this season against Duke, the Cardinals have won six straight. Their streak is notable because they've done so without center Gorgui Dieng, who broke his left wrist Nov. 23 during the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas., Dieng was cleared this week and Pitino will start the 6-foot-11 junior against Kentucky. He'll go against Nerlen Noels, one of the best freshmen in the nation. Kentucky is 6-13 ATS L19 Saturday games. College Basketball Odds: Louisville is a 8.5-point favorite. Total: 134.

#20 UNLV (11-1 SU, 6-5 ATS) at North Carolina (9-3 SU, 6-4 ATS)

Yes, UNLV is ranked and North Carolina is not. But the Tar Heels are the favorite because they are talented and at home. Freshman Anthony Bennett leads the charge for the Runnin' Rebels, Mike Moser's 16 points and 18 rebounds helped UNLV pull off a 90-80 upset of No. 1 North Carolina on Nov. 26 of last season, but a dislocated right elbow suffered in a win over California on Dec. 9 will keep him from attempting to repeat that performance. UNLV has won nine in a row led by Bennett,, who scored 21 points in an 89-74 win over Canisius last Saturday. He leads all freshmen, averaging 19.5 points, and he's hit 57.4 percent of his shots in the four games Moser has been out. UNC.is coming off a 97-63 win over McNeese State on Dec. 22. UNLV is 1-10 ATS last 11 road games.. Hoops Odds: North Carolina is a 4.5-point favorite. Total: 158.
