NASCAR info:

The Jr pick tonight should be very solid. Here are the results of the last 5 races at Daytona:

2001 Daytona 500: Michael Waltrip (DEI) (1st NASCAR win)

*Dale Earnhardt Sr was killed in this race, crashing while running 3rd. Waltrip won, Jr finished 2nd. The DEI (Dale Earnhardt Incorporated) dominance at this track (and Talledega) was just beginning.

2001 Pepsi 400: Dale Earnhardt Jr.(DEI) Some cried "fix" as Jr won the next race at the track that claimed his father's life earlier in the year.

2002 Daytona 500: Ward Burton (Non DEI). Huge crash takes out 24 cars in final 30 laps. Ward Burton capitalizes and grabs a win.

2002 Pepsi 400: Michael Waltrip (DEI). Waltrip gets his 2nd ever win. Jr and Waltrip run 1-2 most of the race.

2003 Daytona 500: Michael Waltrip (DEI). Come on now. MW has won 3 of the last five races at this track, and HAS NEVER WON A RACE ANYWHERE ELSE! He was 0 for 462 all-time in NASCAR going into the 2001 season (when he joined DEI)!

2003 Pepsi 400: ? (Jr baby!)

I think this is Dale Earnhardt Jr's weekend. I wrote on Thursday that he would win the Busch race and the Pepsi 400. He won the Busch Race Friday night, leading all 250 miles of the entire race. Guess who ran 2nd the entire race....Michael Waltrip!

The FACT IS DEI has a secret for running at these "restrictor plate races". Until the others figure out what they know, they will be the ones to beat. I think Waltrip will let Jr win tonight! Mark my word. If Waltrip pulls out and passes him to win the race, I would be shocked. Waltrip won it last year, and he won his second Daytona 500 here in February. It is Jr's time, and they both know it.
