Right Angle Sports (1/2 unit plays)
Western Kentucky at Montana (+5) - 6:00pm Pacific - Game #567-568
Montana returned six of their top eight players from a team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament last year. The starting frontcourt remains fully intact led by leading scorer, rebounder, and team MVP Andrew Strait. The team struggled a bit out of the gate this year as they adjusted to new head coach Wayne Tinkle and had to experiment with different combinations in the backcourt. They have since settled on jitterbug junior Bryan Ellis at point guard and the team has played its best in last two outings, wins over Minnesota and Boise State. Western Kentucky is off to a solid start but has not played a road game since upset win at Georgia 22 days ago. The Hilltoppers have suspect interior defense and rebounding, two things that Montana's strong frontcourt is very capable of exploiting. Western Kentucky beat a rebuilding Montana team by 26 in 2004, so there will be some revenge in mind tonight. This will be WKU's first ever trip to the state of Montana. The Grizzlies are 27-3 at home in last 2+ seasons. Take the points.

RAS Added Look: Montana +5 1/2 UNIT
Pacific at Sacramento State (+3.5) - 7:00pm Pacific - Game #569-570
After a huge second half collapse against San Francisco, the Hornets have played improved basketball. Senior combo guard Haron Hargrave was reinstated from suspension in very next game and led the team to a 21 point road win at Denver. They followed that with a respectable 9 point loss at Washington, and later blew out UC Davis by 23. They return home today after a two tough road games at Illinois State and Louisville, but should be up for this game as they host longtime rival Pacific for the first time in eight years. This will be Sacramento State's final home game in 2006 and biggest non-conference home game of the season. Pacific is very young this year with their top three scorers all being underclassmen. They have only beaten two Division 1 teams, Missouri Kansas City by 1 in Alaska, and San Francisco by 7 at home. They are 0-2 in their only two true road games and could be a little weary playing their sixth game in 15 days with all but one away from home. Sacramento State holds edges in athleticism and experience. On their home court the Hornets will at least be competitive and have a good chance of winning this outright. Take the points.

RAS Added Look: Sacramento State +3.5 1/2 UNIT

BEN BURNS
COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Game: Memphis vs. Tennessee Game Time: 12/6/2006 9:00:00 PM Prediction: Tennessee
Reason: I'm playing on TENNESSEE. This game is arguably bigger for the Volunteers than it is for the Tigers. Memphis was one game away from the Final Four last season while Tennessee has only advanced past the second round of the NCAA tournament just once since 1981. As a result, the Tigers and their fans have little respect for their instate rivals. Coach Bruce Pearl concurs: "There is no program in the country that respects us less than Memphis, and that's because we haven't done enough to earn their respect. That should bother our fans enough that we should try to show Memphis we are indeed a national program. But we have to do it on the floor." These teams met at Memphis last season with the Tigers earning a 9-point victory. However, a closer look shows that game was tied with 6:45 remaining. Playing on their home floor, I expect the Vols to exact some revenge. The line is currently listed at a 'pick'em' at most books. This is noteworthy as we find Tennessee at an extremely profitable 10-2 SU/ATS the last 12 times it was a home underdog (or pick'em) of 3-points or less and 7-3 ATS the last 10 times it was a home favorite (or pick'em) of three points or less. The Tigers are already 0-2 ATS this month which brings them to 6-11-1 ATS their last 18 lined games in December. Look for that mark to get worse before it gets better as the Vols hand them a rare loss.

BEN BURNS
NBA BASKETBALL

Game: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Game Time: 12/6/2006 8:05:00 PM
Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks
Reason: I'm laying the points with MILWAUKEE. The Bucks have gotten off to a relatively poor start. However, they are still 11-7 their last 18 games on this floor and tonight should be a good spot for them to pick up a victory. The Blazers, who come off a surprising win at Detroit last night, are an awful 3-17 SU and 7-13 ATS the last 20 times that they played the second of back to back games. They are also 0-5 SU/ATS when facing a team with a losing record and 1-5 SU/ATS vs. teams which allow 99+ points per game. Bucks' star Michael Redd, who is averaging 29.6 points this season, scored 56 points in Milwaukee's two wins over the Blazers last season. Look for him to have another big game as the Bucks earn the win and cover.

Game: Houston Rockets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Game Time: 12/6/2006 8:00:00 PM
Prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves
Reason: I'm playing on MINNESOTA. The T-Wolves are currently very slight underdogs (+1 -112 at Pinnacle as I write this). Thats worth noting as we find them at an outstanding 30-14 ATS (29-15 SU) the last 44 times they were home underdogs of three points or less, including a 7-1 ATS mark in that role the past two seasons. During the same stretch, the Rockets are just 3-7 SU/ATS as road favorites of three points or less. Regardless of the pointspread, the situation favors the T-Wolves. Minnesota had the past two nights off while Houston hosted the Warriors last night. Granted, that resulted in an easy win. However, the fact remains that they are a poor 1-6 SU (2-5 ATS) the last seven times they played the second of back to back games. Last night's win notwithstanding, the Rockets have had trouble covering the spread all season. On the other hand, the T-Wolves come off a 9-point win at Philadelphia in their last game and are now 6-1 ATS their last seven games. They are also 7-3 ATS the last 10 times they were looking to avenge an earlier loss. Look for them to get some payback from last week's loss at Houston.

Game: Orlando Magic vs. Indiana Pacers Game Time: 12/6/2006 7:05:00 PM
Prediction: Indiana Pacers
Reason: I'm playing on INDIANA. These teams have already met twice this season. The home team won each game with the Pacers covering he number each time. Note that those results have dropped the Magic to an ugly 11-27-1 ATS (29%!) their last 39 games against teams from the Central Division. Its also worth mentioning that the Pacers 10-point win in Indiana brought them to 3-0 the last three meetings here and 13-5 the last 18. Those 13 wins came by an average margin of 13, with 12 of them coming by three points or more. The Pacers were -5 favorites for the earlier meeting here. Granted, the Magic are playing better now than they were then. However, they are also playing the final leg of a 6-game (10-day) road trip. Therefore, its not hard to imagine them being a bit road-weary and already thinking about finally returning home. The Pacers, who are currently slight favorites, have performed very well in the favorite role this year, going 7-3 SU/ATS. Look for them to come away with the win and cover tonight.

VEGAS EXPERTS

Memphis Grizzlies at Boston Celtics
Wednesday, December 6th, 7:30 PM EST

Boston is just 5-11 on the year and 5-10-1 ATS. It is 3-6 at home and 2-7 ATS including 1-5 ATS as a home favorite. Memphis comes in 4-13 on the year but 9-8 ATS including 6-4 ATS on the road on a 1-9 straight-up record. The Grizzlies have covered four of their last six away from home and 15 of their last 18 versus Boston. In addition MEMPHIS is 39-22 ATS against Atlantic division opponents since 1996 and 91-64 ATS after a non-conference game since 1996 while Boston is 31-57 ATS in home games after 2 straight games with 10 or less offensive rebounds since 1996.

(509) WAS Wizards and (510) NY Knicks

Take "(510) NY Knicks"

The Washington Wizards (7-10 SU, 7-10 ATS) look for their first road win of the season tonight in New York. While the Wizards have covered just 3 of 8 on the road, they will have to win this one straight up since the early line is Pick'em. So far this season the Wizards have been anything but magical on the road, not only losing every game, but getting outscored by an average of 13 points per game (101-88). Meanwhile, the Knicks (7-13 SU, 9-11 ATS) haven't exactly been posting many wins this season, especially at home where they are just 2-7 SU. However, the Knicks finally put together a solid game on Tuesday night with a wire-to-wire win over the Memphis Grizzlies, 98-90. The Knicks led comfortably the entire game en route to only their second home victory. In fact, the Knicks only other home win was against these same Wizards back on November 15th, 102-82 as a three-point home dog. Look or much the same tonight as the Knicks win another one and keep the Wizards winless on the road.
