We would not be a bit surprised to see the Pack get murdered here but there’s simply no way were laying better than a converted touchdown with the Panthers. This is a classic case of a 0-3 team that’s getting lots of negative press against a team that many are calling elite. In addition, the Panthers are a horrible favorite, always have been and this is a role that they seldom succeed in. Everyone is talking about how bad the Pack have been, especially the secondary, and how ineffective Brett Favre has been. While that’s true, it’s also true that the Panthers Jake Delhomme hasn’t been much better. Delhomme, in three games has passed for just over 600 yards and has thrown just as many picks as he has TD’s. It’s also worth noting that the Panthers have just one more win than the Packers and they’ve lost to New Orleans and Miami. When you watch ESPN or any other NFL show the one word that every player mentions when interviewed is respect. NFL players want it more than anything and right now the Packers and Favre aren’t getting any. When a whole team is getting zero respect they have a funny way of coming up big. We saw it with the Texans and Lions yesterday and chances are we’ll see it with the Packers tonight. Play: Green Bay +7½

Note: In years past this 43 points would be nothing to cover OVER the total when the Pack were involved in the game. However, Green Bay is not the team they used to be offesively and most of the problems lie with a couple of things: A young inexperienced offensive line and the lack of a reliable deep throwing threat. The Packers are just not able to stretch opponents D and utilize Favre's arm. If the Packers cannot run, they have a very hard time moving the ball through the air. GB is averaging just 79 yards per game this year and only 3.3 yards per rush. As a result Bret has already thrown 7 interceptions in those 3 games played. We do not expect that to change tonight going up against the Panthers D which allows lesss than 100 yards per game and 3.6 yards per rush. Carolina has not had the kind of start this year that they had hoped for with Jake Delhomme performing sporadic and completing just over 53% of his passes and 4 picked off as well. We fully expect both of these struggling teams to play a conservative style of play and attempt to establish a running game that has not been there for either team. Carolina had just 61 on the ground last week at Miami in an overtime loss. The last 4 times these two have met we saw 38, 27, 31, and 35. I think we see pretty much the same kind of score for tonight...
