Local news is all over this this this morning but this is off of ESPN.com:
Spurrier Getting Cocky
Let the wailing begin in Gainesville. ESPN confirms that Steve Spurrier has an agreement in principle to become the next coach at South Carolina, replacing Lou Holtz in 2005. The only snag would be if Holtz, who says he's worn out, opts to return for a seventh season with the Gamecocks.
Holtz is done after this year. He has already publicly endorsed Spurrier for the job.

he and that AD Foley hate each other! i think thats part of the reason why he came here, well that and the fact we can offer him a membership to augusta nat'l!
