VEGAS VICK:

EAGLES (-12) over Cowboys

Just a quick note of caution. If Atlanta wins tomororw, then we'll keep this game at the top of our best-bet list. But if the Falcons lose, which would give the Eagles the No. 1 seed and homefield, then we would advise a lighter play. Just as we suspected last week, the Birds were not really interested in the Redskins after stomping the Packers. This week, they will be interested. Andy Reid said he will play his starters no matter what, so we'll take him at his word. In the last meeting, Philly toyed with Dallas, posting an impressive 49-21 victory. After looking at Vinny Testaverde's work over the last six games, 10 interceptions and only five touchdowns, it's easy to see why this game will end with a three-TD bulge in the Eagles' favor.

Panthers (+3) over FALCONS

As we documented in last week's selection, Carolina is on a brilliant roll. The Panthers have won and covered five in a row, and will look to avenge a 27-10 loss from October. The only problem is, Atlanta is exceptionally tough at home (6-1), so we're expecting a tight game, maybe a late field goal for a Falcons win. That's why it is imperative that you get the hook, or half-point, with the underdog.

Ravens (+ over COLTS

Peyton Manning deserves every accolade thrown his way, but the Baltimore defense does not want him to break the single-seasno TD record in this game. Since the Ravens allow only 15.8 points per game, there's a good chance Manning will have to wait until San Diego comes to town next week. With seven ****** in the last nine outings, Baltimore has more than enough bullets to keep this game under a TD.

Saints (+ over BUCCANEERS

Both teams sit at 5-8, both will miss the playoffs, so what's with the eight point spread? That is just way to high. Especially against a New Orleans team that has performed very well against the spread on the road since coach Jim Haslett took over in 2000. The Saints have covered four of six away from home this season and will have no problem staying inside a touchdown.

Seahawks (+6) over JETS

With Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck on fire (51-for-74 for 748 yards and six TDs the last two games), and New York QB Chad Pennington still with a sore shoulder, the Seahawks will hang tight to the gun.

Bills (-1) over BENGALS

Bengals QB Jon Kitna might have been last year's Comeback Player of the Year, but with four straight wins, and covering eight of the last 10, Buffalo is the comeback team of this season.

We also like:
Redskins (-4) over 49ERS
LIONS (+3) over Vikings
Jaguars (+3) over PACKERS
Chargers (-10) over BROWNS
Texans (+1) over BEARS
Rams (-3) over CARDS
CHIEFS (+1) over Broncos
Titans (+2) over RAIDERS
DOLPHINS (+9) over Patriots (Mon)

Alex Smart New York Jets

The Jets enter this contest against the Seahawks off a disappointing hard fought loss to the Steelers last time out by a score of 17-6. You can bet they will be hinged on getting the memory of that loss out of their heads by trying to climb back into the winners circle this week with a motivated effort against a Seattle franchise they have had success against in the past winning 7 of the L/8 confrontations in this series against the money line and are bankroll expanding 5-2-1 ATS against the spread over that same span. The Jets have been money in the bank this season and are 10-4 ATS L/14 overall and are 4-2 ATS L/6 at home. Their competitors on the other hand, the inconsistent Seahawks, broke a 4 game ATS losing streak with a surprising road dog win over the Vikings last week by a score of 27-23. The up again, down again Seahawks are still just 2-8 ATS L/10 overall and have had problems with their defense and overall inability to hold leads this season. Not a good omen against a disciplined and well coached Jets squad that will feed off a team like Seattle that consistently commits critical mistakes. Bottom line: Look for one of the NFLs best defenses that allows only 14.8 PPG to slow down Seattles moody offense. While the Jets prime time signal caller Pennington and his side kick star RB Curtis Martin will let loose on what remains a suspect Seahawks secondary and defense.Note:The Jets are 7-3 ATS L/10 as favorites.Seattle is 0-3 ATS L/3 versus AFC East division opponents.

Carlo Campanella Cincinnati Bengals

Buffalo has quietly been one of the hottest teams in the NFL in recent weeks while going on a 6-1 SU & ATS run. Buffalo is 4-0 SU & 3-1 ATS in this series, but it's a perfect time for a letdown as we find the Bills at 3-12 ATS after 4 or more consecutive victories and just 3-10 ATS on the road after having won 6 or 7 out of their last 8 games. Bengals are a solid 4-2 SU behind young QB Palmer at home and offer value this Sunday.

7* Play On Cincinnati

This guy has been pretty hot lately!

Lenny DelGenio Houston Texans OVER

Both of these teams are virutally eliminated from playoff contention and can play a very free, loose style of game. The Bears are trying to see what they have in Hutchinson at QB and he has looked good at times the last few weeks. They will find nothing out by having him turn around and hand off every other play. The Texans are coming off of games in which they scored 7 & 14 points and will be looking to get Carr and the offense back on track with some confidence heading into next yr. Houston has played OVER the total in 4 of their 6 road games this yr, allowing 28 or more in all 4 of those games. The Bears will be without Urlacher which won't help their defense.

Larry Ness St. Louis Rams

The Rams are EASILY on the the biggest disappointments of the 2004 season and if they lose here will most likely miss the playoffs. I wonder if THAT would get Mike Martz fired? Martz, a self proclaimed genius, has done a BRUTAL job coaching this talented team! Despite two wins over division rival Seattle, the Rams are still under. 500 at 6-7 with a home loss to New Orleans and a road loss at Miami standing out as MISSED OPPORTUNITIES. St Louis had SEVEN giveaways in losing at Carolina last week and the Rams minus-20 ratio is a league-worst! After 46 takeaways last year, the Rams have just 13 in 2004! Bulger is expected back for this one and maybe Faulk too? The best news for St Louis is its opponent. Since winning two straight and getting to 4-5, Dennis Green began his REVOLVING QBs theme and the team has gone 0-4 SU and ATS! Despite all the Rams' negative ATS numbers on the road, the Cards are a team they CAN BEAT! In Week 1, despite beating the Cards just 17-10, the Rams outgained them 448 yards to 260 and had 27 FDs with the Cards getting just 14! DESPITE Mike Martz, the Rams win here vs the Cards and stay alive for a wild card berth in the NFC.

Take the Rams.

KO’s Blistering Hot NFL Triple Play: Now 33 Games over .500!!

@Eagles (-) over Cowboys
12/19/2004 1PM EST
Andy Reid has made it a point to beat Dallas whenever and wherever possible. When Parcells had buy-in from his players early last year they pulled anupset over the Eagles. But that is the only time since the start of the 2001 season that the Eagles haven’t won this matchup in blowout fashion. In addition to their 28-point rampage a few Monday night’s ago, the Eagles have won by 23, 24, 31, 33, and 22. That’s 6-1 with every win being by 22 points or more. Look for a similar effort here. Go with the Eagles.

Lions (+) over Vikings
12/19/2004, 1PM EST
Vikes have given up 24 points or more in every road game this year and they just can’t get the stops that they need. Allowing 5.7 yards per play just doesn’t cut it when you have playoff aspirations. Lions D played well on Sunday and is allowing 5.0 yards per play. The Lions may soon be on the verge of matching up with the Vikings from a skill position standpoint, as RB Kevin Jones and WR Roy Williams are an exciting young tandem. Go with the Lions.

Ravens (+) over @Colts
12/19/2004, 8:35PM EST
The Colts do not have a victory this season against a team with a defense in the Top 15 in the league. Ravens have the style to give the Colts a run for their money and have a defense and running game of the sort Indy has rarely seen. Go with the Ravens.
