Herb Sendek's Wolfpack were awful to close the season. These guys dropped four straight, two of them to Wake Forest and all pretty much in miserable fashion. But that was then and this is now. There is absolutely no reason why they cannot win this game as they are as undervalued as can be right now.
Sure the Longhorns are an immensely talented team but they are also a team that perennially has choked in a spot just like this. Brad Buckman, PJ Tucker, Daniel Gibson, LaMarcus Aldridge and the rest of Rick Barnes' club have the potential to beat anybody in the country. But they are also a team that can lay eggs with the best of them in big spots. You almost saw that in round one against the much inferior Penn Quakers from the Ivy League.
NC State has blistering three point shooters led by Elian Evtimov. These guys started the season at 21-5 and if not for the frigid end to the season would have been more like a four seed because that is truly what they are.
I give the Horns the nod in terms of sheer athletic ability but you watch, I have seen this scenario over and over and over again in the tournament, a choke team does just that more times then not in a situation such as this one.
People have been sleeping on State for a little while now but these guys are about to remind the so-called experts of how dangerous they truly can be.

In case you didn't know, this Bucknell team is legit! Sure they beat weak sisters in the Patriot League but don't take that away from them. These guys just outclassed one of the better teams in the SEC in Arkansas after returning pretty much all of the same players from last season's squad that shocked Kansas in the tournament.
Bucknell is a smart team that rarely will beat itself. No doubt Memphis is the more athletic team as Rodney Carney, Darius Washington, Jr. and the rest of John Calipari's team can run and shoot and are more the blue chip athlete but Bucknell is no joke at all. These guys will play their game and stay in this thing.
Memphis had a great year but is still one of the weakest one seeds ever. They are laying a number that is a tad silly right here. The Bisons will not be intimidated in the slightest because they know that this is a winnable game like those other ones.
Look for an experienced Bison team to be in this thing throughout and possibly even shock the world once again.

Jay Wright has a Villanova team that can shoot as well as anyone and they totally deserved a one seed but these guys do not cover numbers and looked as if they did not want to be playing in their home state in that ugly ugly first round win over Monmouth.
In that last game the Villanova Wildcats seemed to play as if they felt the pressure. Mike Nardi, Allan Raye, Randy Foye and Kyle Lowery form a team that can be a mismatch for most but I think the Arizona Wildcats are a team that can defend this type of a four guard offense.
Lute Olson has an underachieving piece of garbage team there is no other way to describe it but like always they have a ton of talent and upside. You saw the good Arizona destroy Wisconsin in that first round. Even with Hassan Adams back in the fold I do not think that Arizona will be able to repaet that effort but I do think that their athleticism including Adams, Mutapha Shakur and others will keep them in this game and grab the cash.
'Nova has truly been awful against the number this season. They seem to always win and not cover. I see this trend continuiing here as their struggles continue
