Sunday's Betting Tips
By Covers.com

WEATHER TO WATCH

It is going to be steamy in Washington, D.C. again on Sunday with temperatures rising to the high 90's. Before you jump on the over, note the wind is expected to blow inward toward home by game time at 10 mph.

WHO'S HOT

Under is 19-7 in Diamondbacks last 26 Sunday games
Angels are 8-1 in their last 9 games vs. a left-handed starter
Under is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings between the Twins and Rangers (prior to Saturday's game)
Athletics are 11-1 in their last 12 home games vs. a right-handed starter

WHO'S NOT

Astros are 4-20 in Jordan Lyles' last 24 starts
Mariners are 0-4 in their last 4 games with Jeff Nelson behind home plate
Red Sox are 2-11 in Lesters last 13 starts vs. a team with a winning record

KEY STAT

70 to 80 - That's the number of pitches Cubs starter Ryan Dempster will be limited to in his return to the mound after 16 days with a sore throwing shoulder. Dempster's 2.11 ERA would rank first in the National League if he had enough innings to qualify. The Cubs have the 26th ranked bullpen in MLB with a 4.56 ERA.

INJURY THAT SHOULD NOT BE OVERLOOKED

Kia Vaughn, center New York Liberty - Vaughn is the starting center for the Liberty and is questionable Sunday at home vs. San Antonio with a concussion. Vaughn averages 8.8 pts and 5.8 rebounds per game.

GAME OF THE DAY

Yankees vs. Red Sox (-115, 10)

NOTES AND TIPS

The final day before the All-Star game can be tricky and oftentimes strange. Manage your bankroll accordingly and remember that sometimes the best play is the one you don't make.

The home team is 6-1 (5-2 ATS) so far in the CFL. The Roughriders are 3-point underdogs in their home opener against Edmonton on Sunday.

Sunday Night Baseball: Yankees vs. Red Sox
By Steve Merril

The final game before the All-Star break on Sunday Night as the Yankees host the Red Sox.

THE WALKING WOUNDED

The Yankees and Red Sox are arguably two of the most banged up teams in the league right now. New York's pitching staff is without three starters and two relievers including Mariano Rivera and CC Sabathia. The lineup is without Brett Gardner who has been known to provide a big hit. Meanwhile, Boston entered this series without Dustin Pedroia and John Lackey among others.

Dice-K Matsuzaka, Josh Beckett, and Clay Buchholz have all spent time on the disabled list this season.

SUPER NOVA

Ivan Nova has begun to find his form after a rough start to the season. The Yankees' starter has allowed three earned runs or less in six straight starts with the team winning four of those outings. Nova's been able to keep the walks down and the strikeouts up. He gave up two runs and seven hits in six innings his last start in Boston which came all the way back on April 20th.

Nova had made three previous starts against Boston allowing four runs in each of those games, but they came in 2010 and 2011.

SOUTHPAW SUCCESS

Jon Lester has had mixed results as of late. The southpaw has given up six hits or more in nine of his last 10 starts. The good thing for him is Boston has scored four runs or more in seven of those starts, so they've been able to get around his struggles.

Lester has also been good at reducing the damage for the most part, allowing three earned runs or less in six of those 10 starts. He will look for better success against a New York squad that shelled him last season on September 24th in New York. Lester gave up eight runs and eight hits in just over two innings of work.

CURRENT TRENDS

Under is 7-1 in NYY last 8 Sunday games
Yankees are 4-0 in Game 4 of a series
Red Sox are 26-12 in their last 38 Sunday games
Red Sox are 2-6 in Game 4 of a series

HITTERS TO WATCH

Derek Jeter is 17-for-49 vs. Lester
Alex Rodriguez is 6-for-34 vs. Lester
David Ortiz is 3-for-11 vs. Nova
Adrian Gonzalez is 0-for-8 vs. Nova
