It is my one year anniversary on this web site and I want to
express my appreciation to those who have had input into my
handicapping skills. I have learned some things elsewhere but
I have learned a lot on this site also. I have a lot more to learn.

I want to thank username: mvbski (whatever happened to him?) and
especially want to thank MR. MICHAEL CASH who is the administrator of
this forum and a zillion thanks go to Blade who has posted here faithfully
for many months.

I am curious about how old this web site is and the history of it and how
it came into being and why it came into being. Perhaps Mr. Cash could
give us a history of this web site and who developed the idea and site
and why it was developed.

Only if they feel comfortable doing so, perhaps we could learn a little more
about the handicapping backgrounds of Cash and Blade and how they got
involved in sports betting/investing.

Thanks to everyone, Undefeated77 8)

Thanks for the kind words Undefeated

I have been involved with sportsbetting for almost 30 years as a player and behind the counter as well in Vegas and a short stint offshore as well.

I got my start as a gambler as a teenager thanks to my Grandmother who use to take me to the track with her ;D

The site has been online since 1999, in it's current state since 2005. In what might be the best purchase since the Louisiana Purchase, this site was bought for $350 on eBay.

The purpose was to find a better name for our previous site BettorsNetwork.com which was started in 2001. It was a great site however the name sucked and we were having a hard time making a go at it because of that.

This site was started to give bettors a resource for information without any pitch or anything to sell. We still continue that today with everything being free to everyone and it's all paid for through advertising revenue.

As the site enters it's 10th year online it's now the largest sports betting news site in the United States, second in the world only to Covers. We receive visits from 200 countries around the world each month and TheSpread.com boasts over 350,000 pages of sports and sports betting news, stats and information.

All this comes together with 6 employee's and a couple part time tech people.

When I came on this forum a little over a year ago it seemed new to me since a forum moderator with the username mvbski was the only one posting service plays whereas another forum I went on had a lot of people posting. So I started posting a daily play I found and sooner or later more people started posting. Perhaps I started a good thing. But how old is the service plays section of the forum M.C.?

Thanks to blade the service plays section split into "service plays" and "premium service plays". Thanks BLADE !!!

Thanks, 8)

Not sure, couple years maybe. I'm not a big fan of the service plays, I think they are more trouble than they are worth.
