The Sixers had a tough game vs. the visiting Spurs last night before heading to the Windy City. Some of Mo Cheeks’ players may be thinking about the plane ride out of town to commence their All-Star break rather than stopping their hungry opponents

Another rare journey into the college basketball hinterland known as the Sun Belt finds us on the Trojans of Arkansas Little Rock tonight. And with good reason. UALR is 28-3 SU in its last 31 home games, including a perfect 9-0 SU (8-1 ATS) when playing with revenge. Western Kentucky is 1-4 ATS away in its last five games against same season avengers, has a big Bracket Buster game up next, and is 2-20-1 ATS in its last 23 SU losses to avenging teams. The Trojans are 15-1 ATS in their last 16 SU revenge wins. One more stat – Arkansas Little Rock is allowing 60 ppg at home this year. Western Kentucky is 3-13 ATS when the Hilltoppers are held to 65 or less against avenging teams. UALR over WKY – we're there!

VEGAS EXPERTS

Washington Huskies at Oregon Ducks

Thursday, February 16, 8:30 P.M. EST

Washington beat Oregon at home in January 78-59 as an 11-point chalk. Washington comes in off a big home win/non-cover vs. UCLA over the weekend but Oregon had its own big effort, snapping a six-game losing streak with a win at Arizona State. WASHINGTON is 18-7 ATS after 2 straight games where they were called for 22 or more fouls since 1997 and 14-5 ATS after failing to cover 4 or 5 of their last 6 against the spread over the last 3 seasons. OREGON is 4-15 ATS revenging a loss vs opponent over the last 2 seasons and 0-6 ATS off a road win against a conference rival over the last 3 seasons.

BEN BURNS (2-2 Yest) TNT Total of the Month

Game: Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns Game Time: 2/16/2006 10:05:00 PM Prediction: under Reason: Two of the last three meetings between the Suns and the Rockets have fallen below the number. The lone game which finished 'over' the total produced just 188 points, sneaking above the low over/under line (187) by one point. With the Suns coming off a win at Denver last night, I'm expecting a relatively low-scoring affair this evening. The Under is 4-1 the last five times that the Suns played at home, after playing a game the previous night. Although the Rockets are coming off a high-scoring game at LA, the Under remains a solid 7-2 their last nine games. The Rockets, who have held 13 of their last 14 opponents to less than 100 points (Miami got 101), tend to slow down the tempo against up-tempo teams like Phoenix. This season, they have seen the Under go 11-4 (5-0 last five) when facing a team which allows greater than 99 points per game and 13-6 against winning teams overall. I'm looking for the final score to finish below the generous number and am playing on the UNDER *TNT Total of the Month

OREGON

Game: Washington vs. Oregon Game Time: 2/16/2006 8:30:00 PM Prediction: Oregon Reason: After a number of near misses, the Ducks snapped their losing streak with a double-digit win at Arizona State in their last game. I expect them to carry momentum from that victory into tonight's contest vs. the Huskies. Even in their recent defeats, the Ducks didn't play badly, as the last three losses were by a combined five (2,2,1) points. The Huskies have been tough at home but are 0-3 their last three road games. While the Huskies are just 8-13 ATS as favorites this season, the Ducks are 6-4 ATS as underdogs. The Huskies have owned Oregon at Washington, including a 19-point win just a few weeks ago. However, the Ducks are 4-1 SU/ATS the last five times they hosted the Huskies. I'm looking for that success at home to continue and I'm backing the revenge-minded home dog. *UNDERDOG GAME OF THE MONTH

WASHINGTON over *OREGON by 14

We can’t imagine that the Huskies have fallen so far down the ladder in the Pac 10 that they

would lose on the road to a team as bad as Oregon.Washington hit 51.6% of their shots in

a, 78-59, romp over the Ducks on January 21 and more importantly, won the battle off the

boards, 38-23, with a team not noted for its ability to rebound. Meanwhile, if not for playing

such national powers as Savanah State, Bowie State and Howard, Oregon would be under

.500 at home.WASHINGTON, 86-78.

BEST BET

*STANFORD over ARIZONA STATE by 24

The Sun Devils have lost 13 of their last eighteen games and are 3-10 SU and 5-8 ATS since

play began in the Pac 10 which, by the way, is not one of the better conferences in college

hoops these days. The Cardinal, after a slow start, have come on like gangbusters and are

8-3 SU and 10-1 ATS since January 5, including outright upsets of Washington and at

Arizona and Oregon. They are an experienced team led by the trio of Chris Hernandez, Matt

Haryasz and Dan Grunfeld, all of whom are capable of taking over and winning a game at

any time. That type of player is not on the current Arizona State roster. STANFORD, 86-62.

Washington State over Oregon State* by 6

Oregon State head coach Jay John has been whining about his injured point guard

Lamar Hurd through a recent 1-8 SU stretch of 50- and 60-ish games that his slop-ball

princesses have slogged through. Whatever they may finally do good on one end will

be negated on the other. Meanwhile, WSU’s Dick Bennett was without his own starting

PG for a long stretch, never whined, and waited for OSU’s record to drop back to

his level so he could coach John’s pants off head-to-head, and beat him out for a postseason

spot! WASHINGTON STATE, 65-59.

GOLD SHEET

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16

3* Miami-Florida 71 - BOSTON COLLEGE 69—BC, which has been a

notorious money-burner for years as home chalk, picking up in ACC where it left

off in Big East, failing to cover first 3 in that role in its new league (thru Feb. 10).

That losing trend likely to continue vs. revenge-minded Miami squad that has

already proved its road mettle with upsets at North Carolina & Florida State.

Hurricanes’ creative, tough-minded Gs Diaz & Hite (combined 40 pts. in first tilt)

stay cool and calm in hostile surroundings. 05-Bc -1 65-61; 04-DNP
