BYU +7’ California
Our official outlaw line is 5’. The official outlaw line is what the odds would be if there was no consideration given to public perception and balancing the action. It is the more accurate line from the standpoint of the bettor. BYU will have tons of fans traveling with them to a stadium in which they are 7-1 SU. It’s their first bowl appearance since 2001 and this one is huge for them. "When you have over half the crowd that's going to be our fans — upwards of 25,000 — it's our responsibility to take advantage of that," Mendenhall said. "They're showing up to see us play well. That's what we intend to do."
Besides that, history is on BYU's side. All-time, the Cougars own a 7-1 record at Sam Boyd Stadium, including a 55-14 victory over UNLV on Nov. 5. "We played pretty well last time we came here," said senior running back Fahu Tahi. "We just want to come out and play hard like we did then and try to pull it out so we go home happy."
California has been very inconsistent at QB all year. They may sneak out a win, but certainly not a cover.
Major…
COLORADO STATE +3 Navy
Navy will have the partisan edge but State has the better team. One of the biggest advantages Navy has with their option offense is it is so tough to prepare for. The long break benefits CSU as much as any bowl team from a preparation standpoint. Plus State sees it facing Air Force. Yes playing in San Diego is a big advantage for Navy which will have a lot of partisans rooting them on. But CSU has a 13.5 completion percentage advantage offensively.
The break was also great for the underdogs offense. For the first time in seven games, the offense will have its entire starting front intact and on the field.
Navy-Colorado State OVER 62
It’s as healthy as CSU’s explosive offense has been all year. But their defense is still one of the worst in the land giving up 6.0 yards per play teams normally getting 5.5. Navy’s offense gets 6.3 yards per play against teams normally allowing 5.7. We can’t see either team stopping the other frankly.
Wise Guy plays are your maximum play. Majors are .75 of Wise Guy plays.

ILLINOIS STATE +7 Indiana State
Don’t let the records deceive you, these teams are close talent wise. What say you Indiana State coach Royce Waltman? "We're very excited about being 7-0, but by no stretch of the imagination we could easily be 2-5," said Waltman, whose team was picked ninth in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll, just one spot ahead of Illinois State.
"We've won some close games, which we haven't done for several years," Waltman continued. "Our guys are making plays near the end of games. To be honest, I thought we would be better this year. I thought we had a schedule that could get us some wins early, but I didn't think we would be undefeated." Saturday, they won with a three point shot at the buzzer for example. A close win here is fine with me. They also beat Ball State by one point and Middle Tennessee in overtime.
Illinois State for example despite three more losses hits 7.7 percent more of their shots. The also allow eight fewer points per game. So these are very deceptive records.
YALE +13’ Providence
Oh Providence is coming off their best defensive effort but remember we use inconsistency to our benefit and this is a work in progress. We strongly doubt they will have great efforts back to back and their coach seems to agree. "We're trying to find an identity defensively," is the way Tim Welsh describes it. Providence switched to a zone and threw off Northeastern but the Elis will be ready and they have the personnel to bust the zone having made 47 3-pointers as it has won five of its first nine. Eric Flato (16) and the Holmes twins -- Caleb (15) and Nick (9) -- have 40 of those treys.
ST. LOUIS +5’ Gonzaga
The Gonzaga Bulldogs have been sleepwalking through home games with Virginia in the Kennel and Eastern Washington in the Spokane Arena, and escaping with wins. Meanwhile the Bilikens conclude a five game home stand, so the schedule maker helps the home underdogs here. Already 3-0 this year, Saint Louis is normally tough to beat at Savvis where it is 124-50 (.713) in 12 seasons. Combining the 1993-94 season at The St. Louis Arena, their three games at the Trans World Dome and two appearances at the St. Charles Family Arena, the Billikens are 142-50 (.740) in their last 192 home games. The Bills are 61-19 (.763) against non-conference competition at Savvis.
NBA

CHICAGO +1’ Cleveland
This is one of the top sharp versus squares games. That means most of the sharp money is going one way and most of the sucker money the other way according to our offshore, Vegas and “outlaw†contacts. We go with the sharp money.
