Future conference foes will meet tonight in Texas. Troy State will leave the ranks of the independents to join the Sun Belt Conference next season. For now, these two squads will re-visit their one game history. In 2001, Troy State upended the Mean Green and sent them to a bowl game with a losing record. Troy State won that first meeting 18-16. I expect a similar type of game tonight. These two squads have stepped out in their non-conference schedules and have improved their overall quality of team by doing so. The defensive units should be on display here tonight. Look for the game to be dominated by defense.
