Considering Arizona’s season low is 60 points and the fact Washington State has scored a pathetic 41 points or less in three consecutive games, I fully expected to give 20 points tonight with the Wildcats (17-10). The Pac-10 isn’t exactly considered strong this season and right now you’d have to expect four teams to get into the field of 64 with UCLA, Washington, California, and Arizona all at 17 wins or more (Stanford 14-11 is next). Arizona destroyed Arizona State by 21 points in their last game and note the Cats are 8-1 ATS at home off a double-digit conference victory the last three years. Arizona won the first meeting 70-52 at Washington State. The Wildcats have also taken their last two at home by 21 and 22 points. They recently beat Oregon on this floor, which is somewhat significant considering the Cougars lost recently in Eugene by 30 points 67-37. Note this price opened at Arizona –11. Take Arizona.

Explanation: At 9:30 pm, on ESPN2, our selection is on the UAB, as Mike Anderson`s Blazers are a super 20-8 ATS at home since Feb 28, 1998 when playing with revenge, including 4-0 when getting 4 or more points, and 14-3 ATS when their foe is not off a point spread win. In its last game, UAB won at SMU behind Marvett McDonald`s 39 points. For his effort, McDonald was named Conference USA`s Player of the Week. Although Memphis is attempting to go undefeated in conference play, this is a much more important game to the Blazers, who need to win to solidify their standing as a team that will be selected to participate in the NCAA tournament. These two teams played a tight game at the Pyramid back in January. Memphis led by just 2 points (65-63), but outscored UAB 8-3 down the stretch for a 73-66 victory. The home court will likely be the difference in tonight`s game, as well, since UAB has won 7 of 10 at home vs. Memphis, compared to dropping 11 of 12 on the road. In front of a sold-out crowd at Bartow Arena, I look for McDonald, Squeaky Johnson and the rest of the Blazers to upset Memphis and snap the Tigers` 15-game win streak. Take the points.

Explanation: At 5:50 pm, our selection is on the North Carolina Greensboro Spartans, who fall into a 93% ATS Conference Tournament system of mine (the details of which will remain for my eyes only). Both teams ended the regular season with a loss. Western Carolina fell by 4 points at UT-Chattanooga, while the Spartans come into this game on a 6-game losing streak. But NC Greensboro has revenge from 87-76 and 67-53 losses to the Catamounts earlier this year. I think they`ll snap their losing streak and get their revenge in this early evening game, as Western Carolina is a poor 5-16 away from home off a straight-up loss. Take the points.

Reason: Put us down on USC +7 for our Free College Basketball Selection on Thursday. USC will be on the road today as they take on Stanford. We will side with USC plus the points. Here's why... First off, this USC team is much better then what most people think. USC comes into this game at 17-10 on the season and should be able to give this Stanford team a good fight. USC already beat this Stanford team this season on 12/31/05 at Southern California. USC won that game by 11 points! We are not saying Stanford does not have talent (they do), but they are over-rated. We also need to factor in that Stanford is over-looking this game. Stanford's next game will be against UCLA at which they have been waiting for all season long. One things for sure, Stanford's lack of focus will show in this game. Grab those points! Take USC!

The USC Trojans go for a sweep of their season-series with Stanford Thursday night when they take on the Cardinal in Palo Alto. Will the Trojans get at least the money or will the Cardinal get their revenge along with the cover?
USC is 2-4 over its last six games and 1-5 ATS. Since beating Stanford in December it is a so-so 7-7 S/U and ATS. Stanford has had it in gear since that December loss, winning 10-of-15 and going 12-3 ATS. It is 6-1 at home vs. Pac-10 foes and 5-2 ATS as well as 16-5 ATS after a game with 9 or less assists since 1997 and 11-2 ATS after scoring 25 points or less in the first half last game over the last 3 seasons.

Miguel Cotto (25-0, 21 KOs) is taking this fight in his home country of Puerto Rico, as a tune up to a huge Madison Square Garden showdown with Paul Malignaggi (21-0, 5 KOs) on June 10. That traditionally is a terrible plan, and Gianluca Branco (36-1-1, 19 KOs) isn’t a total bum. His only loss was a decision to none other than the fighter Cotto is most often compared to, Arturo Gatti. Gatti dropped Branco once but never had him in any serious trouble. Gianluca did fight very warily and might have been a bit intimidated in his first fight in the U.S. If he thought the U.S. was tough, wait till he gets a load of Puerto Rico. Not only will every fan be against him, if the Corley fight is any indication the ref will be too. Odds have not been posted on Cotto to KO yet, but it is a guarantee. If Cotto doesn’t do it legitimately, the hometown refereeing will do its best. Cotto is much more talented and fresh than Gatti and he is fully recovered from the eardrum injury that hindered him in his last 2 fights. The current star of Puerto Rico will be looking to please the fans and Branco will be sure to do his part. There is no way that he can withstand the attack of Cotto and the screaming from the bloodthirsty fans.
