Football is back fortunately for Week 14. Denver takes on Oakland in a game that could have serious playoff implications for the Broncos. Of course, Peyton Manning and Thursday night football means action. There is also a TNT doubleheader in the NBA a few intriguing college hoops games. So take a look at this betting primer for the top matchups of the night!

Let's get started with some pigskin!

Denver (9-3 SU, 6-6 ATS, 8-4 O/U) at Oakland (3-9 SU, 3-9 ATS, 5-7 O/U)

Last game: Denver (+6.5) over OAKLAND, 37-6. Denver has plenty to play for over the next four weeks even though they've already clinched the AFC West title. Denver has won seven straight games, which is their longest winning streak in 14 years. Peyton Manning is second in the NFL in completion percentage (68.0), touchdown passes (29) and passer rating (104.6), Manning went 27 of 38 for 242 yards with three TDs and an interception Sunday to help Denver secure the West crown with a 31-23 win over Tampa Bay. The Raiders, who've been outscored 189-96 in their last five games, must find a better way to slow down Manning. The Raiders rank last in the NFL in scoring defense (31.3 points per game), 28th against the run (130.4 yards) and 25th against the pass (256.6). Denver is 0-4 ATS L4 in December. NFL Line: Denver is a 10-point favorite. Total: 48.5.

Vanderbilt (2-4 SU, 1-4 ATS) at Xavier (6-1 SU, 2-1-1 ATS)

Last year: Xavier (+4) over VANDERBILT, 82-70. Vanderbilt has had a rough start, coming off a 62-52 loss at home to Villanova, as a -1.5-point betting odds favorite. They lost four of their last five and this is coming off losing several key players from last year, including Jeff Taylor and John Jenkins to the NBA. Xavier has seen a mass exodus as well, including losing star freshman guard Dez Wells to Maryland. Xavier is coming off winning 3 straight including a 63-57 road win over Purdue on Saturday as a 6.5-point dog. G Semaj Christon leads the way with 16ppg. Vanderbilt is 6-2 ATS L8 vs. Atlantic Ten. College Hoops Odds: Xavier is a 11.5-point favorite. Total: 129.5.

New York (13-4 SU, 11-6 ATS) at Miami (12-4 SU, 7-9 ATS)

Last game: NY KNICKS (+6) over Miami, 104-84. The Heat are looking for revenge against a very good Knicks team led by Carmelo Anthony, who has been bothered by a finger injury that could keep him out. Anthony entered Wednesday's game in Charlotte averaging 30.7 points over his previous six. He had 23 when he dove into the team's bench after a loose ball and suffered a deep cut to his left middle finger with 2:10 remaining. Enter J.R. Smith, who intercepted a pass with less than 20 seconds left, then hit a jumper as the buzzer sounded -- the final two of his 13 points -- to give the Knicks a 100-98 victory. Miami is coming off a 105-100 loss at Washington that snapped a season-best six-game winning streak. Miami is 6-2 ATS L8 in series. NBA Hoops Odds: Miami is a 7-point favorite. Total: 202.0
