Harvard's Top Scorer Declared Ineligible
Feb. 12, 2003
AP
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) Harvard guard Pat Harvey has been declared ineligible and the team's top scorer will miss the final eight games of the season.

Harvey was forced to sit out the 1999-2000 season because of poor grades, and he was placed on academic probation at the end of last season. He appeared before the school's administrative board this week after receiving an unsatisfactory grade in at least one class this fall.
Harvey, a 5-foot-11 senior guard from Chicago, is averaging 16.7 points a game, second in the Ivy League. He averaged 18.1 points last season, second in the conference, and was named to the all-conference team.
Harvard, which lost to Yale 73-68 on Saturday night, is 10-9 and 2-4 in the Ivy League.
Didnt know if you knew this so just wanted to make sure if you still like the teaser. Thanks DD

In fact, I didn't know he was ineligible to play - now thinking that they will beat Columbia by 12-15 and not by 25! The line was set last night as -13.5 but the books must have known this, so I'm thinking the original line must have been in the low 20's if Harvey was gonna play. I think Harvard's other top two scorers, Merchant (avg 14.4 with 40% from 3pt) and Winter (11.7ppg), will take up the slack. Also, their guard Freeman only averages 7.7 a game, but was last week's leading scorer at Yale with 20, so he can fill it up when needed. Basically, Columbia is REAL bad with no one averaging double digits. They average only about 45 pts on about 33% shooting. And we only have to cover 5.5 (6.5 for you guys now). Harvard still should cover that easily.
p.s. Isn't it a trip - that news story comes out and the line STILL goes up?!?!
believe me guys i'm on harvard tonight so i'm not trying to jinx this but somebody's obviously picking up the slack...they scored 52 in the first half.... GO HARVARD!!!
That's something that usually happens when a star player goes out - it forces the others to really concentrate on playing above what they are used to. They can't sit back and let the star just do alot himself. Now if Penn would just get off their ass and play some defense !
harvard definitely cooled down in the 2nd half...but a "W" none the less (by a half pt)...i got shaved last night by a half pt...good to get one back!!!!
So, HH, are you just straight betting these days, or are you getting in on my teasers? I would hope that I've been winning you some money !
congrats on another teaser winner gabbagoo..i usually stay with straight wagers and parlays...usually don't do much with teasers but enjoy looking at your plays...many are winners without the tease!!!
Looking forward to your Sat teasers. What are there, like a thousand games tommorrow.
HH, if you play parlays, then you definately should play teasers. Nothing gives you a higher winning percentage. Like I've always said "If I can't pick a game with + or -8 points, then I shouldn't be gambling". Yeah, Saturday is actually kinda a sensory overload - I've got to break the day into four parts: noon, afternoon, early evening, late evening. That way I concentrate on a smaller number of games at a time and can get up to four teasers spaced through the day - each one near finish before betting the next one.
