Five Things You Need to Know

It's a slow Tueday save for a Sun Belt football games and a few NBA preseason contests. Looking for some exciting events for Tuesday? Want to lay some action down on some national tv games? Here are some of the top four matchups of the day along with future odds.

1)Arkansas State (4-3) at Louisiana-Lafayette (4-2), Cajun Field

Last year: Arkansas State (-11) over UL Lafayette, 30-21. Both teams are 2-1 in the Sun Belt in this important matchup. On Oct. 13, Ark State defeated South Alabama, 36-29, laying 20.5. Lafayete lost at North Texas on Oct. 16, 30-23. laying 4.5. The Arkansas State Red Wolves visit the Cajun Dome to take on the Ragin' Cajuns of Lafayette. Lafeyette is 20-6 ATS following a SU loss. UL Lafayette is a 4.5-point favorite with a total of 62.

2)NBA Preseason: Miami (3-2) at Charlotte (1-4)

The Bobcats have a young team and led by rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Bismack Biyombo. Veteran Ben Gordon is a stop-gap at shooting guard and Ramon Sessions is a solid veteran at the point, but he's not the long-term answer. They take on a Miami Heat squad, who may end up resting stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. What is the point to even play James, who just came back from the Olympics in London over a month ago.

3)NBA Preseason: Oklahoma City (3-2) at Chicago (3-2)

The Thunder are the forgotten team out West after the Lakers acquired Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the offseason. The Bulls defeated Minnesota on Friday night, 92-81 as Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 24 points. They are still playing without star guard Derrick Rose, who is still rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered in last year's playoffs. Both teams are stacked with veterans and few youngsters.

4)NBA Preseason: Phoenix (2-2) at Golden State (5-1)

The Suns are adjusting to life without Steve Nash. Goran Dragic now runs the point and they'll rely more on Martin Gorcat in the middle. The Suns also added veterans Luis Scola and Michael Beasley up front. They shouldn't have a lot of trouble scoring points. Defending is another story.
