after ending a four-game losing streak against one of the best teams in the eastern conference, the orlando magic face one of its worst when they host the new york knicks. look for the knicks to keep this one close and get the cover ats.

Pick of the Day

Last week I went 5-1 on free plays. This week is underway.
Monday - Loser Wash. Wizards
Tues. - Loser Atlanta Hawks
Wednesday Let's look at Louisiana Tech-Wisconsin game

I like the Wisconsin Badgers here. They are a solid team at home especially on the defensive side of the floor. They should have no problem with a Louisiana Tech team that couldn't throw it in the ocean if they were on a boat. They stink on the road, Wisconsin is your winner tonight.

St. Marys
By Joyce Sterling

SPORTS UNLIMTED

St. Mary's plays host to St. Joseph's tonight in California. After opening the season 0-4 St. Mary's has run off 4 straight Wins. Those first 4 losses came at the hands of Colorado, Rutgers, Arizona and Air Force with 3 of the games being on the road. St. Joseph's has played 3 road games and has lost 2 of them. Those losses were to Davidson and Bucknell hardly college powerhouses. Also of note is the fact that St. Mary's plays great defense as only one opponent this year has shot better than 46% from the floor. Expect a hard fought low scoring game here with St. Mary's winning 68-60. TAKE ST. MARY'S.

College Football:

Boise State is playing at home and hasn't lost there all season. Boston College is a very solid team but they haven't faced an offense like the Broncos all season. Here's the stat that tells it all in this one: Boise State has averaged 47 POINTS at home in their 6 home wins this season. Boise State has covered 5 of their last 6, look for them to win outright as they take it to the Eagles by 10.

RESENDING TO CLARIFY FIRST THREE ARE WISE GUY PLAY IN COLLEGE

Wise Guy plays are your maximum play. Majors are .75 of Wise Guy plays.

CFB

Wise Guy…

BOISE +2 Boston College

Daytime Pre New Year Bowl Game of the Year

Our official outlaw line is Boise -3. The official outlaw line is what the odds would be if there was no consideration given to public perception and balancing the action. It is the more accurate line from the standpoint of the bettor. Boise State is playing at home in the MPC Computers Bowl, and that's a good thing. The Broncos have won 31 straight at Bronco Stadium. It is an unfriendly place to play especially for a team traveling a long way and with a QB Matt Ryan starting just his sixth game. They’ve outscored folks 47-18.3 at home this year.

On offense Boise State has a 69.1 rushing yards per game advantage and Boise averages 1.7 more passing yards per reception, a huge stat.

Don’t believe anything about Dan Hawkins leaving Boise as a distraction. He’s served the school well and his players would love this to be a great sendoff. They will get their wish.

Major…

NEBRASKA +10’ Michigan

Nebraska QB Zach Taylor is becoming more and more comfortable in this offense. Nebraska’s Cory Ross is undersized but extremely versatile at RB, rushing for more than 700 yards and also caught 40 balls. But with the long rest the 195-pounder will get more touches than usual in this game and combined with Taylor’s newfound comfort zone and 10 points. That will prove big.

CBB

Wise Guy..

UAB -2 Oklahoma State

Going with home teams in non-conference games off a 20 point or more win is 634-457.

AIR FORCE -3 Georgia Tech

Going with home teams in non-conference games off a 20 point or more win is 634-457.

CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE +4’ Pepperdine

This is not the Pepperdine team you know and love. They can’t score. 10 games this season, Pepperdine is averaging 62.3 points a game while allowing 70.7 points a contest. To illustrate how their reputation is overvalued, last year they averaged nearly 13 more ppg.

Cal State Northridge enters Wednesday's game with a 5-3 record. The Matadors have been off since December 17 when they defeated Illinois State, 73-69. Pepperdine entered the 2005-06 campaign as the youngest team in the West Coast Conference (WCC) as its roster consists of six freshmen and a total of 13 underclassmen. Last season, the Waves had four seniors and four juniors on the roster. Pepperdine opened its 2005-06 season with an entirely new starting line-up than the one that started the Waves' final game a year ago. Pepperdine, which has traditionally been one of the highest scoring teams in the West Conference (WCC), has uncharacteristically struggled offensively during the 2005-06 season. The Waves rank eighth in the WCC, averaging 62.3 points a contest. Pepperdine has posted a scoring average of at least 70 points a game in each of the last six seasons.

Major…

PURDUE -9 Tennessee Martin

Going with home favorites of 3’-9’ in a non-conference game off a home win is 465-347.

FORDHAM +13’ Notre Dame

Fordham had very high expectations but has fallen short. However the line reflects the former more than the latter. Against a big name rival, this is a great chance to earn some respect. They are playing better though with a win at Virginia and a blowout victory at Fairfield over their last three. They have the talent to keep it close.

TENNESSEE TECH +17’ Michigan State

Remember, Tech only need stay competitive and they will. The Golden Eagles opened the season with a loss at Dayton, but have since won eight of their last nine. Unlike most mid majors, they have the depth to hang with MSU. Eleven Golden Eagles are averaging more than 10 minutes per game

HARVARD +8’ Southern Methodist

This is one of the top sharp versus squares games. That means most of the sharp money is going one way and most of the sucker money the other way according to our offshore, Vegas and “outlaw” contacts. We go with the sharp money.

NBA

Wise Guy…

PORTLAND +3’ Philadelphia

We know this game is special to Sixers coach Mo Cheeks who was fired by the Blazers. But bottom line is Portland is a little better at home than Philly on the road. Portland is off of consecutive road wins, so they return to the Rose Garden playing their best hoops of the year.

Major…

New York-Orlando OVER 192

With a total in the 190s and the home team has lost 4-of-5 SU and has a losing record it’s gone over 254-157.

MINNESOTA -6’ Seattle

This is one of the top sharp versus squares games. That means most of the sharp money is going one way and most of the sucker money the other way according to our offshore, Vegas and “outlaw” contacts. We go with the sharp money.

Reason: At 8:05 pm, our complimentary selection is on the
Minnesota T-Wolves, as Minny falls into a team trend on Wednesday
night that is 14-1 ATS since January 27, 2003. What we
want to do is play on the Timberwolves at home if they
have double revenge, and are not getting more than 2
points. The Wolves indeed have double revenge vs.
Seattle, including a loss in overtime earlier this season
(107-102). Take Minnesota minus the points.
