Injury that shouldn’t be overlooked

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb. Paul is expected to be out of action for approximately eight weeks, which means he would miss the majority of training camp and the preseason. He should be ready for the Clippers’ opener Oct. 31 against Memphis.
