Five Things You Need to Know

Looking for some exciting events on Wednesday? Want to lay some action down on some national tv games? Here are some of the top four matchups of the day including a the baseball playoffs along with future odds.

1)San Francisco at St. Louis, NLCS, Matt Cain (17-6, 2.90 ERA) at Kyle Lohse (17-3, 2.82 ERA) Busch Stadium

The series moves back to St. Louis after the Giants tied it on Monday night, winning 7-1. There's some controversy as well involving another questionable call and Matt Holliday trying to take out Marco Scutaro on a slide. Scutaro got his revenge with a fourth-inning single to drive in two runs. San Francisco is 13-3 last 16 as a dog. St. Louis is a -125 favorite with a total of 7.

2)NY Yankees at Detroit, Game 4, ALCS, C.C. Sabathia (17-6, 3.23 ERA) vs. Max Scherzer (16-7, 3.64 ERA)

Game 4 of this series moves to Comerica Park in Detroit. On Tuesday, Detroit sent their ace Justin Verlander to the mound Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Yankees send out their ace C.C. Sabathia. Joe Girardi is still messing with the lineup to try and find the right combination but is it too late? Detroit is 2-7-2 Under last 11 overall. No line at press time.

3)Indiana at Minnesota, Game 2, WNBA Championship

Indiana won the opener, 76-70 on the road, shocking the Lynx, who had lost just one game at home all season. Erlana Larkins had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Indiana who stunned the defending champs. The more impressive thing was that Indiana was playing without leading scorer Katie Douglas, who had a sprained ankle. Minnesota is a 7.5-point favorite with a total of 151.

4)NBA Preseason: Utah at LA Clippers

Nobody is talking about the LA Clippers and they like it that way. All the focus is on the Lakers, while the Clippers did very little in the offseason to improve their squad, not that they needed to. The Jazz also pretty much stood pat and will rely on youngsters Derrick Favors, Gordon Hayward and big man Enes Kanter, who might be one of the most improved players in the league this year. No line at press time.

5)Odds to win 2012 World Series

Here are the latest odds to win the World Series. We're down to the final four as Detroit takes on the Yankees in the ALCS and St. Louis is facing off with San Francisco in the NLCS. Detroit is the favorite according to Bovada.
