Basketball Betting Odds and Previews: Jan. 9
Atssportsline.com

This is the premier day of the week for betting college basketball other than Saturday. Get out your pens as there are five teams in the top ten that are active tonight in college hoops. There's also a big schedule in the NBA tonight so if you like betting roundball, this is the night to do it!

Good luck and pick some winners tonight!

#14 Butler (12-2 SU, 7-5 ATS) at St. Joseph's (8-4 SU, 4-5 ATS).

Even though this game is not on TV, find an internet outlet and check this one out. Butler is looking for a 10th consecutive victory. Butler was not expected to join the A-10 until 2013-14, but made the jump a year early. They'd certainly like to get better from 3-point range, shooting 29.6 percent (21 of 71) in the past four games. Leading scorer Rotnei Clarke is second in the A-10 with 52 3s but is 2 for 15 from beyond the arc over the last two games while totaling 10 points. Saint Joseph's has limited its last two opponents to 4 for 28 from 3-point range. Paced by three preseason all-conference selections, the Hawks have won a season-high three in a row and also handed No. 17 Notre Dame its only loss in November. Butler is 5-1 ATS last 6 road games. College Basketball Line: St. Joe's is a 2.5-point favorite. Total: NT.

Iowa State (10-3 SU, 2-6 ATS) at Kansas (12-1 SU, 6-6 ATS)

Last year: (1/28/12). IOWA STATE (+7) over Kansas, 72-64. The Jayhawks will begin pursuit of a record ninth straight Big 12 title when they welcome Iowa State to the Phog on Wednesday night. The last time they failed to finish first was 2005, when Oklahoma won the title. Kansas has the nation's top shot blocker in Jeff Withey, one of the game's dynamic freshman guards in Ben McLemore, and four senior starters. Iowa State enters this contest on a four-game win streak after rallying to beat Yale 80-70 on New Year's Day. The Cyclones were down by eight at halftime before outscoring the Bulldogs 53-35 after the break. Will Clyburn scored 14 of his team-high 17 points in the second half and Tyrus McGee and Georges Niang added 14 apiece off the bench for Iowa State. Iowa State is 19-6-1 ATS last 26 vs. Big 12. College Basketball Odds: Kansas is a 12.5-point favorite. Total: 149.

#4 Louisville (13-1 SU, 7-7 ATS) at Seton Hall (12-3 SU, 4-3-1 ATS)

Last year: (3/7/12): LOUISVILLE (-4) over Seton Hall, 61-55. Louisville ranks second among conference teams in scoring at 78.4 points per game after averaging 68.2 on their way to the 2012 Final Four. Louisville, however, took a hit Monday when sophomore forward Chane Behanan suffered a left high ankle sprain in practice. Behanan, averaging 11.4 points and 7.1 rebounds, is expected to miss about 10 days, putting him in danger of missing four games -- the last of which is a Jan. 19 showdown with Syracuse. Freshman Montrezl Harrell, who has scored 6.6 points per game, will replace Behanan in the starting lineup. Playing with just seven healthy scholarship players due to injury, Seton Hall (+2) edged DePaul 73-72 on the road to open Big East play last Wednesday. The Pirates, though, couldn't repeat the trick while playing only eight against the Irish, falling 93-74 on Saturday, getting 10. Seton Hall is 4-9 ATS last 13 Wednesday games. Hoops Odds: Louisville is a 11-point favorite. Total: 138.
