Reason: The biggest factor that we can find in this game is the fact that NY will be playing their 4th game in 7 days. It's a fact that NY does not fare well in these situations. NY's coach Richie Adubadto (sp?) was quoted in Monday's paper as saying that whoever faces Washington in game one, will be at a serious disadvantage. Well, we agree. NY has taken 2 of the three meetings between these teams including a 74-66 win in Washington on 8/9. Things have changed since then, as Washington appears to have their swagger back. We get the feeling from NY, that they would almost prefer to lose the opener, as they play better under pressure. We'd lay up to 3 points on Washington.
One side note to this game is the series prices. Olympic has NY -240 to win the series and Washington +200, Yet Washington is favored in game 1. That should tell you who Vegas likes in game one, and it ALWAYS helps to be on the same side as Vegas. At +200 we can't argue against playing Washington to win the series.
