Hockey Today

Atlanta at Philadelphia (7 p.m. EDT). The Flyers, losers of six of their last eight games (2-3-3), are clinging to the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

STARS

- Henrik Sedin, Canucks, scored twice to lead Vancouver past Phoenix 3-1.

- Brent Burns, Wild, scored a goal and added an assist to help Minnesota beat Colorado 3-1.

LOGJAM

Minnesota's 3-1 victory over Colorado Monday night broke up a three-way tie for first place in the ultra-tight Northwest Division. The Wild have 86 points, two ahead of Calgary, Vancouver and Colorado, who are now tied for sixth place in the Western Conference. Ninth-place Nashville trails the three teams by just four points for the Conference's last playoff spot.

ON THE MOVE

Carolina recalled forward Jeff Hamilton from Albany of the American Hockey League on Monday. Hamilton had six goals and 13 assists in 52 games with the Hurricanes before he was sent to Albany on Feb. 26. ... With starting goalie Pascal Leclaire out for at least two games with a head injury, Columbus recalled Dan LaCosta from AHL affiliate Syracuse to fill in. ... Tampa Bay recalled defenseman Matt Smaby from Norfolk of the AHL. Smaby made his NHL debut on Oct. 4 and has appeared in four games for the Lightning this season.

SPEAKING

``It's exactly like a playoff game. The good thing about all of us being around the 84(-point) mark is we'll all be playoff ready. These last nine games will be a playoff game every night because we're all fighting, scratching and clawing to get into the playoffs.'' - Minnesota forward Brian Rolston after the Wild took over first in the Northwest Division with a 3-1 victory over Colorado on Monday night.
