Bruins recall G Sigalet after injury to Fernandez

BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Bruins recalled goalie Jordan Sigalet from Providence of the AHL on Tuesday after Manny Fernandez strained his left knee in practice earlier in the day.
Fernandez and another veteran, Tim Thomas, had been sharing the goaltending duties.
Sigalet, 26, made one start this season for Providence, where he was 15-5-2 with a 2.39 goals against average last season.
Canucks send Raymond back to AHL

VANCOUVER (CP) -- The Vancouver Canucks are sending Mason Raymond back to the American Hockey League.
The NHL team assigned the 22-year-old forward to its affiliate in Manitoba on Tuesday. Raymond has played one game for the Moose this season, picking up two assists.
The Calgary native appeared in nine games with the Canucks and had one assist and was minus-2.
Vancouver selected Raymond in the second round of the 2005 draft. He joined the Moose late last spring after his sophomore season at Minnesota-Duluth.

BEATING THE BLUES
Phoenix, which entered Tuesday night's game in a 2-6 slump since beating the Blues at home in the Oct. 4 opener, won its fifth straight in St. Louis, 2-1. The Coyotes are 1-5 at home and 3-1 on the road.
SWINGS
Minnesota's 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday night was the Wild's first home defeat of the season. It also dropped them to 0-3-1 in their last four games after starting the season an NHL-best 7-0-1.
SLUMPING
Nashville began a five-game road trip with its fifth consecutive loss away from home, where the Predators have been outscored 21-3 following a 5-1 defeat in Calgary on Tuesday night.
SCORING
Brad Boyes scored his ninth goal in 10 games for St. Louis, which lost to Phoenix 2-1 Tuesday night.
AGREEMENT
NHL players ratified a new constitution, approved through a secret ballot and announced Tuesday, which eliminates the National Hockey League Players' Association's executive committee, comprised of a president and six vice presidents. In its place, the 30 club-player representatives will serve as equal voting members of an executive board. The positions of executive director and general counsel, will now be filled by two, instead of one. Both will serve as nonvoting members of the executive board.

Flyers' Hatcher to have knee surgery; could miss four weeks

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers announced Wednesday that veteran defenseman Derian Hatcher will have surgery on his left knee Thursday, and will miss three to four weeks.
The Flyers recalled 24-year old defenseman Nate Guenin from the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms to occupy Hatcher's roster spot.
Hatcher, the 35-year old anchor of the Atlantic Division-leading Flyers' defensive corps, has two assists and is a plus-seven in nine games so far this season. The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder was the winner of the team's Barry Ashbee Trophy as the most outstanding defenseman in 2006-07, when he totaled three goals and six assists while playing all 82 games.
Philadelphia has opened the season 7-3-0 following a disappointing 22-48-12 campaign a year ago.
