Ryan Smyth and Milan Hejduk scored their 300th career goals in Colorado’s 6-2 victory over Calgary to become just the second set of players in NHL history to reach the milestone in the same game. Detroit’s Danny Gare and Ivan Boldirev accomplished the feat on Feb. 26, 1983, against the New York Islanders.

Hall of Famer Glenn Anderson’s No. 9 Edmonton jersey was retired Sunday night before the Oilers’ win over former teammate Wayne Gretzky’s Phoenix Coyotes. Anderson had 498 goals and 601 assists in 1,129 games with Edmonton, St. Louis, Toronto and the New York Rangers. He won six Stanley Cups, five with Edmonton and one with New York.

Buffalo defenseman Teppo Numminen is out indefinitely after surgery Sunday to repair a fractured bone in his face. The 40-year-old Numminen was struck by a shot Saturday night against Carolina. … St. Louis defenseman Roman Polak broke his left foot Saturday night against Chicago.

New York Rangers draft pick Evgeny Grachev had two goals and an assist in the Brampton Battalion’s 7-2 victory over Sarnia on Sunday in the Ontario Hockey League. Grachev has 24 goals and 22 assists in 36 games this season, the Russian’s first in North America. He was drafted 106th overall in 2007.
