Anaheim at Detroit (7:30 p.m. EST). The Ducks, 6-2-1 on the road, face the defending champion Red Wings in a matchup of the past two Stanley Cup winners.

Sunday

— Mike Modano, Stars, became the 31st NHL player to reach 1,300 points, scoring on a power play with 2:21 remaining to give Dallas a 4-3 victory over Edmonton. Modano also pushed his record for goals by a U.S.-born player to 537.

— Keith Tkachuk and Brad Boyes, Blues. Tkachuk reached 1,000 points with the tying goal late in the second period, and Boyes tied it midway through the third in St. Louis’ 4-2 victory over Atlanta.

— Craig Anderson, Panthers, made 37 saves for his second shutout of the season and sixth overall in the NHL in Florida’s 4-0 victory over the New York Rangers.

— Rob Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne, Ducks. Niedermayer and Selanne scored in a 1:09 span of the third period, and Niedermayer added another goal in Anaheim’s 4-1 victory over Carolina. The Ducks have points in a team-record eight straight road games.

SCOUTING

Mattias Karlsson and Ilya Zubov each had a goal and two assists to help visiting Binghamton (Senators) beat Hamilton (Canadiens) 5-3 on Sunday in the AHL. A crowd of 14,446 fans attended the game. … Luca Cunti, drafted 75th overall by Tampa Bay in 2007, scored twice in the final 19 seconds of the second period to complete his first Quebec Major Junior Hockey League hat trick in Rimouski’s 8-4 victory over Saint John.

SWAP

Dallas acquired defenseman Andrew Hutchinson from Tampa Bay for the rights to winger Lauri Tukonen, currently playing for Lukko Rauma in the Finnish Elite League. Hutchinson was scoreless in two games for Tampa Bay this season and had a goal and 13 assists in 20 games for Norfolk in the AHL.

Nashville Predators vs. Buffalo Sabres

The Predators paid for their penalties, allowing five power-plays to the Wild in a 6-2 loss at the Sommet Center Saturday.

Minnesota won as a -102 road favorite while the final score played over the 5.5-goal total.

The Sabres lost their sixth game in the last eight with a 3-2 loss to the Canadiens at the Bell Centre Saturday night.
