St. Louis at Detroit (7 p.m. EST). The Stanley Cup champion Red Wings have lost a season-high five straight games.

— Alex Ovechkin, Capitals, scored three goals for his seventh career hat trick and second of the season in a 7-4 win over Ottawa.

— Pekka Rinne, Predators, made 32 saves to help Nashville beat Edmonton 2-1.

— Tim Thomas, Bruins, stopped 27 shots in a 3-1 win at Montreal.

STREAKS

Boston’s 3-1 victory at Montreal on Sunday was its fourth straight against the Canadiens this season. The Bruins, who beat the New York Rangers 1-0 on Saturday, have recorded points in six straight games and have lost only once in regulation in their last 11 (8-1-2).

Alex Ovechkin’s hat trick in Washington’s 7-4 win over Ottawa on Sunday extended his NHL-leading total to 37 goals this season. He has scored at least two goals four times in the last seven games, and now has 199 career goals in his fourth NHL season.

St. Louis Blues vs. Detroit Red Wings

The Blues played a near-perfect game, shutting out the Flyers 4-0 at the Scottrade Center Saturday.

St. Louis won as a +110 home favorite while the final score played under the 5.5-goal total.

Johan Franzen and Ville Leino scored for Detroit in a 4-2 loss to Washington on Saturday afternoon.
