New York Rangers at New Jersey (7 p.m. EST). The Rangers are coming off a 10-2 loss in Dallas on Friday night, their fourth straight setback. The Devils have lost two straight at home, falling to Washington and Los Angeles.

— Pavel Datsyuk and Ty Conklin, Red Wings. Datsyuk scored twice, and Conklin made 25 saves for his sixth shutout of the season in Detroit’s 3-0 victory in Pittsburgh.

— Jeff Carter, Flyers, scored his 33rd and 34th goals of the season in Philadelphia’s 3-2 road victory over Atlanta.

— Niklas Backstrom and Mikko Koivu, Wild. Backstrom made 28 saves and stopped all four attempts in the shootout, and Koivu scored in the fourth round in Minnesota’s 3-2 home victory over Edmonton.

SIDELINED

Buffalo All-Star left wing Thomas Vanek will be sidelined three to four weeks after fracturing his jaw Saturday night in Ottawa. Third in the NHL with 32 goals, Vanek had surgery Sunday. He was struck by Ottawa defenseman Anton Volchenkov’s slap shot.

SCOUTING

Tim Stapleton scored four goals, and Andre Deveaux added three to help the Toronto Marlies (Maple Leafs) rout the visiting Grand Rapids Griffins (Red Wings) 10-5 on Sunday in the American Hockey League. … Jeff Skinner had three goals in the Kitchener Rangers’ 4-1 home victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday night in the Ontario Hockey League. Skinner has six goals and two assists in his last three games.

New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils

The Rangers were pounded 10-2 by the Stars last time out, as +115 road underdogs. The 12 goals sailed OVER the posted over/under (5.5)

Nikolai Zherdev scored both goals, while Stephen Valiquette allowed all 10 goals off 39 shots in the loss.

The Devils let the Kings escape with a 3-1 win at the Prudential Center Saturday night.
