NHL Picks & Predictions for Saturday, November 6, 2010
By Drew Sharper
he battle of Canada takes place in the NHL on Saturday night as Montreal hosts Ottawa in a Northeast Division clash at 7PM ET.
The Canadiens are 8-4-1 to start the year and lead the division by three points over Boston. The Canadiens have scored 32 goals on the year and allowed 30. They are 3-2-1 at home.
Ottawa is 6-6-1 this season and is four points behind Montreal for first in the division. The Senators have scored 33 goals and allowed 38. They are 2-3-1 on the road.
Here is a look at the trends and my pick for tonight’s game.
Ottawa Senators vs. Montreal Canadiens, 7PM ET
The Senators have won 7 of their last 10 against Montreal and 4 of the last 5 in Montreal.
This seems to be a matchup where Ottawa just has Montreal’s number and until the Canadiens can consistently show it is the better team, I would go with the Senators.
