NHL Picks & Predictions for Thursday, October 7, 2010
By Drew Sharper
The 2010-11 NHL Hockey Season debuts on Thursday and here is a look at a couple of the premiere games on opening night.
The marquee game on Thursday night has Pittsburgh taking on Philadelphia. This game features the past two Eastern Conference champions. The Penguins will be the home team for this contest.
The defending Stanley Cup Champions open the season on the road as the Blackhawks take on Colorado at 10PM ET. The Blackhawks have had a lot of roster changes after winning the cup and it should be interesting to see how the new team comes together.
Here are my picks for those two contests on the opening night of the NHL season.
Philadelphia Flyers at Pittsburgh Penguins, 7PM ET
The road team is 7-2 in the last nine meetings between these two teams and the Flyers are 8-1 in their last nine against the Eastern Conference while going 5-1 in their last six against the Atlantic Division.

Chicago Blackhawks at Colorado Avalanche, 10PM ET
