We are looking to start a contest that starts the day after Super Bowl that covers NBA and College Basketball. We bumped around a couple ideas but nothing really set my world on fire so I figured I would pose it to the masses.

If you were going to play in a basketball contest at TheSpread.com with the prizes being TheSpread.com t-shirts what kind of format would you like?

From our standpoint we only care about 2 things

1) I want to give away as many shirts as possible (within reason)
2) It needs to be easy to update and score since it will be done by hand

Lets hear some ideas!

A contest similar to ESPN's Streak for cash would be a good idea. Each person picks their matchups and prizes go to the person/s with the longest streak, to the person/s with the most wins, or person/s with the highest win percentage. And maybe get some advertisers or promoters to through in some kind of prize too. The bigger the prize the bigger the turnout...what do ya think?

Post 3 games per day(or choose certain days Mon,Wed,Fri ect.) in the morning with a mix of NBA & College. Have a point spread & you get 1 point per win. If you go 3-0 in that day you get a bonus of 3 points. Most points at the end of the week wins. On the final day have a tie breaker with total points for one of the games on that day. Give other prizes for longest win streak, total points at the end of the season, and most points scored in a week.
Just a thought hope you can tweak around a bit to make it better. For sure I think you need a point spread in the games instead of choosing a straight up winner.
