Report: Penguins and Sabres to play outdoor game

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres are set to ring in 2008 by playing an outdoor contest.
According to a report in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, several NHL officials confirmed that a New Year's Day game between the Penguins and Sabres will take place at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, NY.
The game is slated to air nationally on NBC from the home stadium of the NFL's Buffalo Bills, and will mirror the November, 2003 Heritage Classic at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium which pitted the Oilers against the Montreal Canadiens.
An official announcement on the date and time of the game is expected on September 10, prior to the first day of training camp.
