2009 Emmy Awards Odds – Best Comedy, Drama, Actor and Actress
The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards takes place September 20, 2009 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Let’s check out some of the odds for the big event.
The 2009 Emmys will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and will be shown on CBS. Of the total network nominations, HBO blew away the competition with 99, while NBC has 67 and ABC has 55. CBS has 49, FOX has 42 and Showtime has 29.
While checking out the odds, 30 Rock is a 4/9 favorite over The Office (37/20) and Family Guy (5/2) to win most Outstanding Comedy Series. At 4/7, Mad Men is favored over Breaking Bad (7/4) and Damages (5/2) to win most Outstanding Drama Series according to oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com.
It appears that Dancing With the Stars (4/5) holds the edge over American Idol (7/2) and The Amazing Race (3/2) for the most Outstanding Reality Competition Award, while The Colbert Report (1/1) edges The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (7/4) to win the most Outstanding Variety Music or Comedy Series Award.
Heading into the Emmys, Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock is the odds favorite at 2/3 to win most Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and his costar Tina Fey is 4/7 to win most Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
