2010 Belmont Stakes Odds to Win – Ice Box Opens as a 2/1 Favorite
Oddsmakers have released the opening odds for the 2010 Belmont Stakes and Ice Box has been made the favorite.
Ice Box finished second at the 2010 Kentucky Derby on May 1, which was his last outing. He edged out Paddy O’prado down the stretch, but couldn’t catch Derby winner Super Saver.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Ice Box a 2/1 favorite to win the 142nd running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. First Dude and Fly Down have the next best odds at 4/1, while Make Music For Me and Game On Dude are both 8/1.
First Dude came out of nowhere to finish second at the 2010 Preakness Stakes on May 15. He ran strong the entire way, but couldn’t edge out Lookin at Lucky, who beat out favorite Super Saver. It was the fourth time in five races this season that First Dude finished in the money.
Fly Down didn’t run in either the Kentucky Derby or Preakness this year, but did win the G2 Dwyer on May 8, which was his last outing. He also won an Allowance on February 21, although he finished ninth at the G2 Louisiana Derby on March 27.
The 2010 Belmont Stakes will take place this Saturday on June 5 at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. For complete odds on this weekend’s race, see below and for more information on the race, check out our Belmont Stakes Viewing Guide.
