2010 Bob Hope Classic Odds To Win – Tim Clark Favored By Oddsmakers

The 2010 PGA Tour breaks from usual traditions this week for the 2010 Bob Hope Classic a five-round event that takes place at four different golf courses near La Quinta, Calif.

Each of the participating golfers will compete on a different course each day. The courses are PGA West Arnold Palmer Private Course, PGA West Nicklaus Private Course, La Quinta Country Club, and SilverRock Golf Club.

This week’s event kicks off Wednesday, Jan. 20 and concludes Sunday, Jan. 24. The field doesn’t feature many of the top players in the world, but 39th-ranked Tim Clark is the pre-event favorite to win.

Clark is an 18/1 favorite to win according to the online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Other short odds to win are Ryan Moore (22/1), Justin Rose (22/1), and Mike Weir (22/1).
Clark finished fifth in last year’s event and has two top-five finishes in his last three appearances in the Bob Hope Classic. Clark has finished in the top 30 of his last five golf events, and is coming off a 25th place finish in the 2010 Sony Open.

Moore has played in the last three Bob Hope Classics and his best finish was fifth place in the 2008 event. Moore has finished in the top 10 in his last four events, including the 2010 SBS Championship.

Rose has not played in this event in the last two years, but finished in the top 10 in 2007 and 2006. Rose has made the cut in his last 10 events and has five top-20’s in that stretch.

Weir is the 2003 winner of this event and he also finished third in last year’s event and fifth in the 2006 event. Weir has finished nor worse than 31st in his last six golf events and this will be his first tournament of 2010.
