2010 French Open Men’s Odds To Win – Nadal Favored By Oddsmakers
The second grand slam of 2010 is set to take place starting on Sunday, as the 2010 French Open begins from Paris, France.
The man considered to be the master of the clay court, Rafael Nadal, is favored to reclaim the French Open title this year.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction has made Nadal a 1/3 favorite to win. Other short odds to win are Roger Federer (7/2), and Novak Djokovic (12/1).
Nadal is a four-time champion of this event as he dominated the tournament from 2005-08, winning the title each year. Nadal was finally ousted from the tournament last year in the fourth round, which opened the door for Federer to win the title and complete the grand slam. Nadal has won six grand slam titles and finished runner-up in two other majors. Nadal reached the quarters of the Australian Open earlier this year.
Federer won this event last year to complete his career grand slam. He had finished runner-up the three previous years, losing to Nadal each time. Federer has won 16 grand slam titles in his career and reached the finals of six other grand slam tournaments. Since 2005, Federer has at least reached the semifinals of every grand slam tournament.
Djokovic has one grand slam title to his credit, the 2008 Australian Open. In French Open play, he has reached the semifinals two times, in 2007 and 2008. Djokovic has reached at least the quarterfinals in five of the last six grand slam tournaments.
