After a short retirement, Justine Henin has quickly risen back to the top of the tennis world and she is favored to win the French Open.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com has made Henin a 3/2 favorite to win. Other short odds to win are Serena Williams (5/1), Jelena Jankovic (11/2), and Venus Williams (10/1).

A four-time French Open champion, as she won the title in 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007. Henin hasn’t lost in this event since 2004 as she missed the last two year in her retirement. Henin reached the finals of the 2010 Australian Open before losing to Serena Williams in three sets. Henin has won seven grand slam titles in her career and reached at least the quarterfinals in the last nine grand slam events she has played in.

Serena has won the French Open one time, which came in 2002. She has reached the semifinals one other time and made four other quarterfinal appearances. Williams has 12 grand slam titles and has won four of the last six titles. She has reached at least the quarterfinals in the last seven grand slam events.

Jankovic has never won a grand slam title and reached just one championship, as she lost to Serena Williams in the finals of the 2008 U.S. Open. Jankovic has not reached even the quarterfinals of a grand slam event since then and in her career, she had two semifinal appearances in the French Open.

Venus Williams has never won the French Open but reached the finals in 2002, when she lost to Serena. Williams has been ousted in the third round of the French Open the last three years. In her career, Venus has seven grand slam titles, but she has not won a title since Wimbledon in 2008.

The French Open tennis tournament will start on Sunday, May 23 and end on Saturday, June 5. The tournament takes place in Paris, France. For complete odds on the men’s tournament, see below.
