2010 Nathans Hot Dog Eating Contest Odds to Win – Joey Chestnut Favored
Three-time defending champion Joey Chestnut is favored to win the 2010 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, but there’s no doubt he’ll face competition from Takeru Kobayashi.
Bet the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
For six straight years, Kobayashi has dominated Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, producing victories in 2001 through 2006. He smashed the Japanese and world record for most hot dogs eaten in ’01 by taking down 50 and then broke his own record in ’02 with 50 ½. He topped that mark twice more in ’04 by eating 53 ½ dogs, then once more in ’06 by taking down 54.
In 2007, things changed. Chestnut broke the world and U.S. records with 59 ½ hot dogs in a qualifier contest on June 2. He then set a new event, U.S. and world record by eating 66 dogs to win the 2007 Nathan’s HDEC. He defended his crown in ’08 by eating 59 dogs, then broke his previous record by eating 68 dogs in 2009. He became the second person to win three consecutive titles behind Kobayashi.
