2010 PGA Verizon Heritage Odds To Win – Jim Furyk Favored

Following the first major championship of 2010, the PGA Tour gets back to action this week with the 2010 Verizon Heritage from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Bet The 2010 Shell Houston Open

With this event coming off a major, many of the top players elect to skip it, but the field should still be competitive, and Jim Furyk is favored to win the event.

Furyk has been given 16/1 odds win according to the online sports book SBGGLOBAL. Other short odds to win are K.J. Choi (20/1), Paul Casey (20/1), Ian Poulter (20/1), and Camilo Villegas (20/1).

Furyk is sixth in the world rankings and he has finished in the top five of this event in two of the last four years. Furyk missed the cut at the Masters which ended a 22-event streak where he had made the cut. Furyk had finished no worse than 37th in his last 11 events before the major championship.

Casey is seventh in the world rankings and he took 11th in last year’s tournament. Casey also missed the cut last week at the Masters, but he had finished in the top 11 in seven of his last eight events.

Choi is 33rd in the world rankings right now after finishing fourth in the Masters. Choi has not played in this tournament in recent years but he has finished in the top five in three of his last four events.

Poulter has also not played in this event. He is fifth in the world rankings right now after finishing 10th in the Masters last weekend. Poulter already has one win this year as he won the WGC-Match Play Championship. Poulter has just two top 10 finishes in tournament events this year.

Villegas finished 37th in this event last year and then seventh in 2008. Villegas is 13th in the world rankings. Villegas finished 38th in the Masters last week and had a recent victory in the 2010 Honda Classic. Villegas has finished in the top 10 in four events in 2010.
