Dublin looks to rebound from his poor showing at the Kentucky Derby when he takes on the field at the 135th running of the Preakness Stakes on Saturday.

More people felt that Dublin would have a better showing at the 2010 Kentucky Derby than he did. He finished seventh behind (among others) Super Saver, Ice Box and Paddy O’prado. He did finish in the money in the G1 Arkansas Derby on April 10, however, and also finished third in the G2 Rebel on March 13.

Opening Odds

Dublin has opened at 10/1 to win the 2010 Preakness Stakes, according to oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. His odds follow 2010 Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver (2/1), Paddy O’prado (3/1) and Lookin at Lucky (4/1), who was the favorite to win the Derby entering the race.

Early Analysis

While his two third place finishes before the Kentucky Derby offered some hope, Dublin crashed and burned at Churchill Downs. He lacks Professional points, is coming off a poor prep effort and he lacks a stakes win this year. He has also not run a 100 Beyer, although he has shown that he can rally. He also had to fight his way through traffic at the Kentucky Derby, a problem that he won’t have to face at the Preakness.
