2010 Preakness Odds to Win – Super Saver Favored by Oddsmakers
The 2010 Preakness Stakes takes place on Saturday, May 15 and the opening odds list Super Saver as the favorite to win at Pimlico Race Course.
Behind the smooth riding of jockey Calvin Borel, Super Saver pulled an upset at the 2010 Kentucky Derby, beating out favorites Lookin at Lucky and Sidney’s Candy. Super Saver, which was a 12/1 long shot entering the race, edged out Ice Box and Paddy O’prado, who finished second and third, respectively.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made Super Saver +200 on the money line to win the 135th running of the Preakness Stakes. Lookin at Lucky is +400, as is Kentucky Derby third place finisher Paddy O’prado.
Other Kentucky Derby contenders that will compete at the Preakness are Dublin (+1000) and Jackson Bend (+2000). Outside of the five horses previous mentioned, the Preakness’ field largely consists of contenders that did not run at the Kentucky Derby.
Last year, Borel raced filly Rachel Alexandra to a win at the Preakness, so this is once again a track that he has had success on. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not his dominance in recent years continues on Saturday.
