Sony Open Odds To Win – Steve Stricker Favored
The 2010 PGA Tour hits Hawaii this week as the 2010 Sony Open begins play on Thursday, Jan. 14 from Waialae Course One.
The field has some of the best talent in the PGA Tour, and Steve Stricker has emerged as the early favorite to win the event.
Stricker is a 7/1 favorite to win according to the online sports book Brobury Sports. Other short odds to win are Zach Johnson (8/1), Sean O’Hair (12/1), and Rory Sabbatini (15/1).
Stricker is the third ranked golfer in the world and he holds two top-five finishes in this event over the last three years. Stricker is coming off a 10th place finish in the SBS Championship and he has finished in the top 10 in five of his last six events.
Zach Johnson ranks 22nd in the world. Johnson is the defending champion of this event and he has finished no worse than 28th in his last nine events, which includes four top-10 finishes.
O’Hair ranks 15th in the world and finished tied for 12th in this event last year. O’Hari has finished in the top 10 in five of his last six golf events.
Sabbatini is ranked 43rd in the world rankings and is coming off a runner-up finish in the SBS Championship. Sabbatini has finished second in this event twice in the last four years.
