2011 Omega Dubai Desert Classic Odds To Win: Woods Favored

DUBAI, UAE (TheSpread) – Tiger Woods looks to catch up to Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood in the World Golf Rankings this week as the two play in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic as part of the European Tour.
Woods takes a break from the PGA Tour this week and plays in a top-heavy event in Dubai, featuring Kaymer, who passed Woods for No. 2 on the world rankings list early this year, and Westwood, who is now No. 1 after passing Woods late in 2010.
Woods is still favored to win the event with 2/1 odds to win according to online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com. Other short odds to win are Kaymer (3/1), Rory McIlroy (7/2), and Westwood (5/1).
Woods won this event in 2008 and 2006 but he is still searching for his first victory in over a year. Woods finished 44th in his lone tournament of 2011, but he had finished in the top 15 of his previous six events. Woods is currently No. 3 in the world rankings.
Westwood is tops in the world rankings but he has had a shaky start to 2011, finishing 64th in his first event and missing the cut in his second event. Westwood had 12 top-10 finishes in 2010.
Kaymer has been as hot as any golfer in the world. He already has a win in 2011, and finished 2010 with three-straight wins late in the season. Kaymer finished fourth in this event last year.
