2011 PGA Farmers Insurance Open Odds: Woods Favored By Oddsmakers

LA JOLLA, CA (TheSpread) – Tiger Woods makes his first PGA appearance of the year this week as he takes part in the 2011 Farmers Insurance Open.
This week’s field features some of the top golfers on tour including Wood and Phil Mickelson. Woods is the clear favorite to win this tournament despite going winless in 2010
Wood has 3/2 odds to win according to online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com. Other short odds to win are Mickelson (6/1) and Dustin Johnson (8/1).
Woods didn’t win at all in 2010, but he finished in the top 15 of his last six event of 2010, including three top 10’s. Woods won this event in 2005-08 and also in 1999, where he set the course record with a 266.
Mickelson is also a former winner, taking the title in 2001, 2000, and 1993. The defending champion of the event is Ben Crane, who shot a 275 to beat a trio of golfers by one shot. Crane enters this year’s tournament with 16/1 odds.
