2012 The British Open Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com

LANCASHIRE, England (ATS Consultants) - The PGA Tour moves across the pond for the British Open from Lancashire, England at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.

Tiger Woods is once again the favorite to win his fourth claret jug. But the weather is expected to play havoc on the players and the course. If the rain holds up, then there’s always the wind. And there are 204 sand traps at Royal Lytham & St. Annes. Last year’s champ Darren Clarke won by three last year at Royal St. George’s and also tied for third in 2001.

Graeme McDowell 30-1

McDowell is coming off a T-2 at the U.S. Open and won it in Pebble Beach in 2010. He is the type of player who can hang around when conditions are nasty. He has had a decent year with a pair of seconds. There aren’t many who play as well in bad weather.

Dustin Johnson 40-1

Johnson is long off the tee, deft around the greens, and is the type of player who could win any week under any conditions. He won the FedEx St. Jude Classic last month and he has great odds this week.

Longshot

Simon Dyson 125-1

Dyson finished T-9 a year ago at the Open and is coming off a 12th-place finish at the BMW. Also had a 10th place finish at the Irish Open and a top-30 at the Scottish Open. He’s playing pretty good golf as of late and is one of the Englishman that nobody is really talking about.
