2012 UFC 150 Betting Odds & Card for Henderson vs. Edgar II

DENVER, CO (TheSpread) – A rematch for the UFC Lightweight Championship headlines the UFC 150 card on Saturday night.
UFC 150 will take place from the Pepsi Center in Denver with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card features UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson (16-2) defending his title against former champion Frankie Edgar (14-2-1). This is a rematch of the UFC 144 main event that saw Henderson take the title from Edgar in a very close decision. This time around, Henderson is favored to retain his title, as he has odds of -185 to win, while Edgar has odds of +155 to prevail. Henderson has yet to lose since making the move to the UFC from the WEC and he has a clear size edge on Edgar, who is probably better suited to fight at 145 pounds. Edgar has a little more speed, but Henderson has the power edge. In the first bout, Henderson landed fewer strikes, but landed much strong strikes and had better control on the ground. Edgar likes to stay active, but he struggled to inflict big damage on opponents, which hurts with his ability to win decisions.
In the co-main event, another pair of lightweights collide, as Melvin Guillard (30-10-2) faces Donald Cerrone (18-4). According to oddsmakers, Cerrone is the clear favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -300, while Guillard has a money line of +240 to win. Cerrone is a very skilled lightweight that has strong kickboxing and slick submission skills on the ground. Guillard is more of a power puncher that looks for the big KO. He struggles mightily on the ground, but can easily knock an opponent out with one punch. Typically Guillard tries to start fast, but then fades if he can’t finish the fight early. Look for Cerrone to try to slow the fight down quickly and out-work Guillard on the ground.
