2014 World Cup Brazil vs. Germany Free Pick for Tuesday, July 8
By Drew Sharper

BRAZIL (The Spread) – Can Brazil overcome its loss of key players, or will Germany advance to the World Cup final when the two meet today at 4PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Germany is the favorite to win this match in regulation, as it had odds of +160 to prevail in regulation. Brazil has been given odds of +175 to win in 90 minutes, while the odds of this match being tied at the end of regulation has been set at +230. The over/under for the match is listed at 2.5 goals.

Germany advanced to today’s semifinal with a 1-0 win over France, while Brazil reached today’s game with a 2-1 win over Colombia. Brazil will be without Neymar (back injury) and Thiago Silva (yellow cards) in today’s contest.

WORLD CUP FREE PICK: It is unfortunate that Brazil lost two key players in the win over Colombia. It would be interesting to see what would happen if both teams met with their best talent on the field. Even with Neymar and Silva, I still believe Germany had what it takes to win. Without those two, especially Neymar, I don’t see Brazil having the talent on the offensive end to win this game. Germany will be able to control the pace of play and defend well, similar to what it did against France.

WORLD CUP FREE PICK: GERMANY +160
