According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Costa Rica is favored to win this match in regulation time, as it has odds of +135 to prevail. Greece has been given a money line of +220 to win in regulation, while the odds of the game being tied after 90 minutes is +220. The over/under for the match has been set at 2 goals.
Costa Rica won Group D, going 2-0-1 in group play. Costa Rica scored four goals while allowing just one. Greece went 1-1-1 to earn the second spot out of Group C. Greece scored just two goals in three games while allowing four.
WORLD CUP FREE PICK: This match probably won’t be an offensive showcase, and it was tempting to take the under in this one, even though it was just two goals, but it is hard not to like Costa Rica here. Greece is a great story, but hasn’t played that well as a team in this World Cup. Greece was fortunate to have a bit of a weak pool to contend with outside of Columbia, and the results aren’t really there despite getting four points. It scored just two times and had a -2 goal differential. Costa Rica, on the other hand, had to navigate a very solid Group D consisting of Uruguay, Italy and England. Costa Rica didn’t lose any of those matches and allowed just one goal along the way. It should have no problem keeping Greece scoreless and finding a way to win today.
